The article discusses the results of recent interdisciplinary research of the stone tower in Stołpie, near Chełm Lubelski (Poland), which is described by the researchers as having different functions and chronology. The research conducted by the author in 2003 have shown relics leading to a new interpretation of the construction as an element of a unique defensive tower complex, which testifies as an example of a permeation between the western and eastern cultures at the end of the 13th c.
