Podstawowym zadaniem filmu olejowego w łożysku ślizgowym o tarciu płynnym jest rozdzielenie współpracujących powierzchni czynnikiem smarnym, aby nie dopuścić do ich bezpośredniego kontaktu w okresie pracy i idącego za tym niebezpieczeństwa uszkodzenia łożyska. Nawiązując do wcześniejszych opracowań, w artykule przedstawiono sposób apriorycznej oceny zdolności łożyska do utrzymania warunków tarcia płynnego. Dotychczasowe rozważania dotyczyły modelowania stanu łożyska i stanu granicznego zmienną losową niezależną od czasu. Ich rozwinięciem jest uwzględnienie wpływu monotonicznie zmieniającego się obciążenia na prawdopodobieństwo zaniku warunków tarcia płynnego.

The fundamental function of the oil in the fluid friction slide bearing is to separate the cooperating surfaces with the aid of lubricant to protect against their close contact in operation that could result in the bearing. The information that the sliding surfaces have been damaged after a time of their operation is of limited usability. It may be useful in the improvement of a new design or changing the operational conditions. Therefore it is important to acquire the information on the expected probability of the fluid friction preservation but on the stage of design process. In relation to the previous reports, in this paper is presented the method of a priori estimation of the ability of the bearing to maintain the conventional state. So far, the consideration was concerned in the modelling of the state of bearing and the boundary conditions with the aim of the time independent random variable. The further development is regarding to the influence of monotonically varied load on the probability of the termination of fluid friction condition.
