Purpose: Salt is one of the important cooking ingredients used in our daily life. Tamil Nadu is the second largest producer of salt in India, next only to Gujarat. The salt is collected manually by the labours. Since, there was no equipment to collect the salt from the Salt Pan. The paper describes the design and analysis of the salt collecting equipment. The salt from the Salt Pan which consists of salt water can be removed by this equipment. The wooden plate which is present in the equipment will collect the salt and pushes them to both the sides of the Salt Pan. The hand wheel can be used to move the equipment to front and back motion. Another hand wheel is operated to move the wooden plate to the left and right corner which covers all the places of the Salt Pan. This equipment can be modified and reduced to suitable size as per the length of the Salt Pan varies. In the manufacturing process, the suitable length of the pipe is to be selected for the required length. Design/methodology/approach: Thus, it will reduce the time and also the number of labours in the Salt Pan can be reduced. Salt Evaporation Ponds, also called Salterns or Salt Pans, are shallow artificial ponds designed to extract salts from sea water or other brines. The seawater or brine is fed into large ponds and water is drawn out through natural evaporation which allows the salt to be subsequently harvested. The ponds also provide a productive resting and feeding ground for many species of water birds, which may include endangered species. The ponds are commonly separated by levees. The salt collecting technique is a tedious process in which the salt collected by the labours is done by means of hands, in case we are going to replace the manual collecting method into machine collecting that is the separation of salt from the salt water in the Salt Pan. Findings: The labours needed for the salt preparation process are very less in number. By implementing this idea we can greatly reduces the time and the number of labours involved in the Salt Pan. Salt has a very high corrosion effect. It can damage to the human skins. High intensity reflection of sunlight from salt and saline cause eye problems. The damage can be easily rectified by this method. Practical implications: And, hence the overall salt production efficiency can be increased. The salt collector will replace the old salt collecting method and serves as the useful equipment to the workers in the Salt Pan. Originality/value: In Future, it can be made automatically by using motor and overall process can also be made by FRP which has high corrosion resistance.

Discussed are problems related to operation of the air duct inspection robot under manual control. Suggested are engineering solutions for particular modules responsible for functions of the robot. These engineering solutions as described were actually produced and used to build the prototype of the robot which made it possible to comprehensively test the robot prototype performance.

Badania te wykonano w celu ustalenia, która z tych metod sterowania jest najefektywniejsza.

This article describes three methods used to control of ventricular boilers powered on solid fuel. Emission results of each of the methods tested in experimental boiler were compared. During the measurements, the same coal and thermal load were used. This study was performed to determine which of these control methods is most effective.

W artykule zwrócono uwagę na problem i pojawiające się z nim niebezpieczeństwa, związane z nadmiernego korzystania z technik informatycznych w procesie dydaktycznym przyszłej kadry inżynieryjno-technicznej i sprostania przez nią wymogów w pracy zawodowej, szczególnie w przypadkach korzystania z systemu sterowania automatycznego procesu eksploatacyjnego, obiektu elektroenergetycznego, jak również w przypadku awarii tego systemu i potrzeby przejścia na sterowanie ręczne.

Najnowsza technika lotnicza przynosi wiele nowych rozwiązań, które zmieniają tradycyjne schematy i zasady postępowania. Jednym z takich przykładów jest rola pilota sterującego współczesnym samolotem. W referacie przedstawiono możliwości kształtowania wlaściwości użytkowych samolotu poprzez zastosowanie aktywnych systemów sterowania, co oznacza również modyfikację oczekiwań w stosunku do pilota sterującego ręcznie samolotem. Omówiono stosowane rozwiązania oraz ogólne zasady projektowania pośrednich systemów sterowania, a także zasygnalizowano problem oceny charakterystyk pilotażowych samolotu wyposażonego w zautomatyzowany układ ręcznego sterowania. Pokrótce zaprezentowano podstawowe rozwiązania oraz wyniki badań układu pośredniego sterowania SPS-1 opracowanego w Katedrze Awioniki i Sterowania Politechniki Rzeszowskiej, a przeznaczonego dla samolotów ogólnego przeznaczenia.

Recent developments in avionics bring significant changes to traditional methods and rules. One of such changes is role of a pilot of a modern aircraft. Traditionally, pilot has been considered a romantic conqueror of the sky who, by his art of pilotage and intuition, manages to overcome all the difficulties presented by imperfect technology and adverse forces of nature. This vision has been replaced by an idea of a thoroughly educated professional operator who uses highly specialized equipment, has advanced engineering and operational skills, and, above all, excels in accurate decision making. It is worth to ask, therefore, how the process of mutual adaptation of humans and ever-evolving technology should be designed. One possibility is to consider traditional skills as given and adapt technological improvements to pilots' requirements. Second solution is to introduce new construction standards and adjust pilots' training accordingly. I believe that clear and unequivocal answer to this question cannot be given; the problem is too complex. In this paper, one of the possible directions of modifying aircraft handling properties is presented. This proposal assumes that it is feasible to simplify steering by employing integrated computer control systems as well as natural - and nowadays universal - computer skills. Active control systems are presently widely used in military aircraft and airliners. Recent developments in avionics allow to introduce these solutions in general purpose aircraft. In this paper, we present the possibilities of employing a control system in which basic tasks of attitude stabilization and steering along a selected path are provided by a controller while pilot generates target values of signals for automatic flight control system, supervises its performance, and makes operational decisions. Methods of attaining this goal, methodology of selection of control system properties, and possible criteria for evaluation of aircraffs handling properties are presented. Our goal is to design a general purpose aircraft control system which could be used in a way similar to regular computer systems and which would allow safe control for users limited practical experience. As a result, user of a tourist or executive aircraft would be more an operator than a traditional pilot. Or, in other words, he/she will be a pilot of a new generation aircraft with new handling properties.
