Hot storage tanks (HST) are known for their high energy consumption, attributed to variations in usage, heat dissipation within the tank, and heat losses to the surroundings. This study proposes a chimney-type electrically heated HST, which is investigated under static mode to enhance its thermal performance. Different natural circulation areas (chimney areas) with large (9.5 cm diameter), medium (2.5 cm diameter), and small (1.5 cm diameter) sizes were utilized to examine the effect of natural circulation on the HST performance. Additionally, the influence of chimney insulation on the HST performance was also studied. The experiments revealed that the chimney significantly affected the thermal stratification within the tank. Different chimney contact diameters (9.5 cm, 2.5 cm, and 1.5 cm) were tested, showing varying degrees of thermal stratification. The results indicated that smaller chimney contact diameters led to higher thermal stratification and more rapid heating of the top layer temperatures. However, the impact of insulation on thermal performance was inconclusive, suggesting the need for more effective insulation and further investigation into the dynamic mode of operation. The findings also highlighted the faster heating of the top outer layer compared to the larger diameter, emphasizing the significance of the chimney type electrical heater in the hot storage tank.

Coke oven gas (COG) dome injection in COREX melter gasifier is recognized as one of effective method to reduce the amount of solid fuel used for gasification. In this work, a static model was developed to study the characteristics when COG is injected from dome. The critical bosh gas and critical fuel rate in COREX melter gasifier under different melting rate and coke rate were discussed. The amount of COG injection from dome under the critical fuel rates was studied. The results shows that when the heat of bosh gas reaching the critical value, the decrement of fuel rate decreases with the increase of melting rate and increases with the increase of coke rate. Under the critical fuel rate, the total volume of COG increases with the increase of melting rate and coke rate. After the COG injection, the amount and reduction capacity of the generator gas can meet the needs of reduction in shaft furnace. The findings of this work can be used as a theoretical basis to guide plant operations for COG injection.

The paper presents a static model of the price calculation for the various alternative electricity sources, and includes technical and economic performance of different energy sources for the guaranteed power. The table with calculated technical and economic indicators for various alternative energy sources is provided. The presented dynamic model which unites energy indicators of power generating systems and economic indicators of the closed macroeconomic system because price regulation on the power market of Ukraine happens in a statics. That’s why not allowed to perform an assessment of dynamic change of the tariff price of the electric power in the local isolated systems. When abrupt change isolated power generating capacity of the system is changing the tariff price of electricity cannot be taken into account when using static models. An example of the isolated system consisting of the diesel generator and the consumer is reviewed. The model allows to research influence of transition processes of the generator on change of cost indicators of an economic system, and also to estimate the adequate tariff price both for the producer, and for consumers of the electric power. This model is modelled in Matlab.

Today, Parallel Kinematic Machines tools (PKMs) appear in automotive and aeronautic industries. These machines allow a benefit of productivity due to their higher kinematics performances than Serial Kinematic Machines tools (SKMs). However, their machining accuracy is lower. Moreover, the compensation of the defects which penalizes the machined parts quality is difficult due to their anisotropic behaviour. Thus, this article deals with the development of methods improving the machined parts quality and the productivity. In order to improve parts quality, the static behaviour of the machine structure is considered with a model taking into account joints and legs compliances. Then, it allows determining a static workspace. About the productivity, the improvement of kinematics performances is performed through an optimization work of the non productive tool path between cutting operations. The computed tool path must verify a minimum time constraint and avoid collisions between the tool and the machined part. All the methods are illustrated with the PKM Tripteor X7 developed by PCI.

W pracy przedstawiono wymagania stawiane modelom łuku potrzebnym dla sterowania pracą obwodu pieca łukowego. Następnie przyjmując, że przewodność plazmy łuku jest iloczynem funkcji czasu i funkcji promienia z równania Ellenbaasa-Hellera wyprowadzono równanie modelu Cassiego łuku dla liniowej zależności przewodności od potencjału cieplnego. Dla zależności expotecjalnej otrzymano równanie Mayra modelu łuku. Oprócz powyższych modeli dynamicznych przedstawiono model statyczny opisujący wyładowanie łukowe prądu stałego wyprowadzony przez J. Lowke.

The paper deals with requirements of electric arc models, used to automatic control of the work of the arc furnace circuit. Assuming that the conductivity of the arc plasma is a product of the function of the time and the function of the radial coordinate and that the relation between plazma conductivity and termal potential function is linear, using the Ellenbaas-Heller equation the Cassie model of the electric arc was obtained. For the exponential relation the Mayr model equation of the electric arc was received. Apart from above dynamic models the static model describing the direct current arc discharge derived by J. Lowke were introduced.

Content available remote Dynamic model of preventive maintenance planning of steel works

While running steel works it is necessary to avoid occurrence of limiting states of partial works, which are generally causing immediate operation discontinuation. Planned preventive maintenance is the only method to prevent these states. At the moment there is a static model of preventive maintenance planning applied on the majority of steel works, which reveals not to be effective. This paper deals with the meaning and methodics of creation of dynamic planning of preventive maintenance of steel works.

Podczas bieżącej pracy huty stali konieczne jest unikanie wystąpienia stanów ograniczających pracę części huty, które powodują na ogół przerwanie operacji pośrednich. Jedyną metodą zapobiegającą temu stanowi jest planowa zapobiegawcza konserwacja. Dotąd istnieje statyczny model planowanej konserwacji zapobiegawczej, stosowanej w większości hut, który okazał się nieskuteczny. Niniejszy artykuł pokazuje znaczenie i metody tworzenia dynamicznego planowania zapobiegawczej konserwacji w hutach stali.

W pracy przedstawiono koncepcję teoretyczną i opis matematyczny modelu złoża węglowodorów wyrażonego jako przestrzenny rozkład dowolnego parametru złożowego. Opisano równocześnie symulujące pomiary geofizyczne, rozkłady parametrów funkcyjnie - silniej i słabiej, związane ze złożem. Obiekt złożowy podzielono na trzy strefy: — złoże, — strefa brzegowa, — obszar poza złożem. Przeanalizowano możliwości statystycznych metod identyfikacji różnych stref obiektu. Przedstawiono wyniki i skuteczność zastosowania metody taksonomicznej. Model statystyczny uznano za ważny etap budowania modelu deterministycznego. Opisany tak model jest modelem statycznym i stanowi etap konieczny w dynamicznym opisie złoża oraz sejsmicznym monitorowaniu przebiegu eksploatacji (time lapse seismic).

In the publication the theoretical idea and mathematical description of hydrocarbon model was done - by the distribution of the physical reservoir parameters. The results of geophysical measurements was simulated like functional relation of original data. Statistical method of identification of three reservoir zone (reservoir, edge, of reservoir and outside of reservoir) was analysed. It was found that statistical description is a way towards deterministic model.
