Road transport safety, apart from environmental protection, is one of the most important tasks for the contemporary world. Annually, about 50 million people are injured in road accidents around the world, of which nearly 1.5 million die as a result. Transport safety consists of many activities and includes various initiatives, including legal changes, training, preventive actions, building safe road infrastructure, and the production of safe vehicles and control systems. This article deals with the issue of performing roadside technical inspections in the Slovak Republic. Specifically, it analyses the results of these oadside technical inspections in individual counties of the Slovak Republic and examines their possible impact on transport and logistics systems in these counties. The correlation analysis showed that the number of checks under the technical roadside inspections is weakly related to the number of logistics centres, but the number of such inspections is moderate in relation to the number of failed vehicles (correlation coefficient = 0.44079). In addition, due to the age of the vehicles, the number of serious and dangerous faults found on them during maintenance inspection increases.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę zdarzeń drogowych w aspekcie bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego. Zwrócono uwagę na stan techniczny pojazdu, gdyż często bywa on przyczyną wielu wypadków i kolizji drogowych. Ponadto oszacowano koszt występujących zdarzeń drogowych, aby zwrócić uwagę na ważność omawianej problematyki.

This paper presents an analysis of road accidents in aspect of road safety. Particular attention was paid to the technical condition of the vehicle which is often the cause of many road accidents and collisions. In addition, it was estimated the cost of road accidents in order to draw attention to the importance of the discussed issues.

W artykule przedstawiono oraz omówiono dotychczas stosowane metody diagnozowania stanu technicznego pojazdów samochodowych. Opisano symptomy oraz możliwe uszkodzenia danych elementów wraz z powiązaniem relacyjnym pomiędzy nimi. Przedstawiono matematyczne modele opisujące relacje diagnostyczne. Opracowano i przedstawiono stanowisko laboratoryjne do fizycznego badania danych elementów w pojazdach samochodowych.

The paper presents and discusses the methods used so far to diagnose the technical condition of vehicles. Described the symptoms and possible corruption of data elements with relational linkage between them. The paper presents mathematical models describing the relationship diagnostics. Developed and presented the position of the physical examination, laboratory data elements in vehicles.

Stanem technicznym pojazdu określa się ogół pewnych cech, które pozwalają poruszać się danym pojazdem w bezpieczny sposób. Jest to oczywiście związane ze sprawnością podstawowych układów, za pomocą których kierowca panuje nad pojazdem w każdej chwili, zarówno w czasie jazdy, jak i postoju.

Wypadki drogowe, których przyczyną był stan techniczny pojazdów są przedmiotem dyskusji i polemik często opartych na domniemaniach i przesądach. Celem pracy jest analiza światowych i krajowych badań w tym zakresie oraz analiza prac własnych Instytutu Transportu Samochodowego. Przedstawiono wyniki różnych badań prowadzonych przez międzynarodowe instytucje oraz Instytut Transportu Samochodowego. Opisano szczegółowo statystyki wypadków drogowych na podstawie wiarygodnych danych z Niemiec i Polski. Szczegółowe wyniki analiz statystycznych wskazują na mały wpływ stanu technicznego pojazdu na wypadki drogowe. Wypadek drogowy jest wynikiem głównie błędów kierującego pojazdem.

Road accidents caused by the technical condition of the vehicles are a subject of discussions and polemics often based on assumptions and prejudices. The aim of this study is to analyze the global and national researches in this field and the analysis of the Motor Transport Institute’s own work. There are results presented of various studies carried out by international institutions and Motor Transport Institute. The statistics of road accidents have been described in detail based on reliable data from Germany and Polish. Detailed results of the statistical analysis indicate a small effect of the vehicle’s condition on the road accidents. Road accident is due mainly to the vehicle operator’s errors.

W artykule omówiono wpływ opon na wskazania aparatury wykorzystywanej do sprawdzania stanu technicznego pojazdu w stacji diagnostycznej. Do badań wykorzystano opony używane różnych marek i po różnym okresie eksploatacji. Badania przeprowadzano testując przednią oś samochodu. Samochód był poddawany trzykrotnie próbie przylegania kół do podłoża poprzez badanie amortyzatorów przednich oraz poddawany był próbie skuteczności hamowania. Przeprowadzone badania w stacji diagnostycznej nie wykazały wpływu zamontowanych w samochodzie opon na wskazania aparatury pomiarowej.

The article presents impact of tires on the indication apparatus used to check the condition of the vehicle in the diagnostic station. The study used different brands of used tires and after different periods of life. Tests were conducted by testing the front axle of the car. The car was tested three times. The test wheel of adhesion to the ground was made by examining of the shock from front axle. The car was subjected to try of braking. The research in diagnostic station showed no connection between tire mounted in a car and indication of the measuring apparatus.

W artykule dokonano wstępnej analizy wyników badań kontrolnych stanu technicznego pojazdu marki VW GOLF i jego układu zawieszenia, na podstawie okresowych badań technicznych. Sformułowano wnioski o stanie technicznym pojazdów i obliczono wskaźniki niezawodności dla pojazdów, układu zawieszenia i sworznia wahacza.

The paper presents a preliminary analysis of results obtained during technical control tests of VW GOLF cars and their wheel arrangements. Conclusions concerning car technical conditions were made and reliability indicators for car, wheel arrangement and wheels mounting bolt were calculated.
