The basic characteristics of debris flows in the Shiwei river basin are summarized through the field investigation on debris flows in the Shiwei river basin and analysis on formation conditions of debris flows from three aspects, i.e. geological environment, geological structure and neotectonic movement, as well as seismic action. Based on this, the stability of landslide in the Shiwei river basin is analyzed and calculated, and the stability coefficient of landslide is obtained. The debris flows in the Shiwei river basin will directly damage and threaten the county town, while other geological disasters such as landslide, collapse, slope sliding & collapse and potentially unstable slopes will indirectly damage and threaten the county town. The landslide form is clear, and the landslide stability calculation shows that the landslide body is generally stable – basically stable, but partially unstable – less stable. The “blocking + discharging” comprehensive control scheme is proposed according to the formation conditions and development characteristics of debris flows in the Shiwei river basin, and the study findings can be used as a reference for similar projects.

W artykule omówiono różnice pomiędzy żurawiami samojezdnymi i przenośnymi, które należy uwzględniać w trakcie przeprowadzania obliczeń stateczności. Omówiono pojęcie konturu i krawędzi wywrotu. Pokazano możliwość kształtowania tego ostatniego w przypadku żurawi przenośnych poprzez możliwe stosowanie podpór dodatkowych. Na przykładzie konkretnych rozwiązań technicznych wykazano szerokie możliwości zapewnienia operatorom tych ostatnich warunków bezpiecznej pracy. Wskazano na rolę obliczeń wykonywanych przez firmy wykonujące zabudowy na w spełnieniu wymagań bezpieczeństwa, wynikające z odpowiednich norm.

The article discusses the differences between mobile cranes and truck cranes, which should be considered when conducting stability calculations. Explains the contour`s concept and the edge of tipping. It presents the possibility of formation of the latter in the case of truck cranes by possible use of additional supports. For example, specific technical solutions are demonstrated which are a few of the ample of opportunities to provide operators with the conditions of safe operation. Paper is emphasizing the role of the calculations which has to be performed by the assembling company in order to meet the safety requirements resulting from the relevant standards.

This paper presents the slope stability analysis for the current as well as projected (final) geometry of waste dump Sandstone Open Pit “Osielec”. For the stability analysis six sections were selected. Then, the final geometry of the waste dump was designed and the stability analysis was conducted. On the basis of the analysis results the opportunities to improve the stability of the object were identified. The next issue addressed in the paper was to determine the proportion of the mixture containing mining and processing wastes, for which the waste dump remains stable. Stability calculations were carried out using Janbu method, which belongs to the limit equilibrium methods.
