Fractional heat conduction in multilayer spherical bodies

In this paper an analytical solution of the time-fractional heat conduction problem in a spherical coordinate system is presented. The considerations deal the two-dimensional problem in multilayer spherical bodies including a hollow sphere, hemisphere and spherical wedge. The mathematical Robin conditions are assumed. The solution is a sum of time-dependent function satisfied homogenous boundary conditions and of a solution of the steady-state problem. Numerical example shows the temperature distributions in the hemisphere for various order of time-derivative.

W pracy przedstawiono nowy sposób rozwiązania jednowymiarowego i dwu-obszarowego, parabolicznego problemu ruchomej granicy we współrzędnych sferycznych. Zagadnienie, nazywane parabolicznym problemem Stefana, występuje w procesie suszenia sublimacyjnego materiałów porowatych o nieuporządkowanej strukturze, na przykład produktów pochodzenia biotechnologicznego czy farmaceutycznych. Jest ono adekwatne dla procesu liofilizacji materiału zamrożonego na ściance wewnętrznej szklanej kolby kulistej, stosowanego do utrwalania produktów biosyntezy.

A novel approach to solution of a one-dimensional and two-region, parabolic moving boundary problem in spherical coordinates was presented. The problem, known as parabolic Stefan problem, takes place in the vacuum freeze drying of the disordered porous materials for example biomaterials or pharmaceuticals. It is adequate for lyophilization process of the material frozen on inner wall of the spherical glass bulb. Such a method of vacuum freeze drying is utilized in biosynthesis products preservation.
