Content available remote Kadison’s antilattice theorem for a synaptic algebra
EN
We prove that if A is a synaptic algebra and the orthomodular lattice P of projections in A is complete, then A is a factor if and only if A is an antilattice. We also generalize several other results of R. Kadison pertaining to infima and suprema in operator algebras.

In this paper there is defined reference model of spectral resampling algorithm together with the reasons for the selection of the operations included in the algorithm. Further there is described method for performing deviations measurement, test signals selection criteria and also presented the results of the measurement errors introduced by the algorithm to the output signal. There is also made analysis of algorithm performance. At the end of this paper, condition of perfect fit time windows is defined, its impact on algorithm outputs quality and also errors introduced by the algorithm are measured again.

The paper presents comparison of results of impulse response spectral analysis that has been obtained using a method based on cross-correlation with results obtained using classical FFT. The presented non-Fourier method is achieved by correlating the analyzed signal and reference single-harmonic signals and using Hilbert transform to obtain an envelope of cross-correlation. The envelope of cross correlation makes it possible to calculate appropriate indicator and make its plot in frequency domain as a spectrum. The spectrum obtained this way has its advantage over the FFT that the spectral resolution does not depend on duration of signal. At the same time, the spectral resolution can be much greater than spectral resolution resultant from FFT. Obtained results show that presented non-Fourier method gives frequency readout more accurate in comparison to FFT when the impulse response is a short-time signal e.g. few dozen of miliseconds lasting.

Content available remote Compression bases in effect algebras
EN
We generalize David Foulis's concept of a compression base on a unital group to effect algebras. We first show that the compressions of a compressible effect algebra form a compression basis and that a sequential effect algebra possesses a natural maximal compression basis. It is then shown that many of the results concerning compressible effect algebras hold for arbitrary effect algebras by focusing on a specific compression base. For example, the foci (or projections) of a compression base form an orthomodular poset. Moreover, one can give a natural definition for the commutant of a projection in a compression base and results concerning order and compatibility of projections can be generalized. Finally it is shown that if a compression base has the projection-cover property, then the projections of the base form an orthomodular lattice
