In the numerical model of the structure of the two-phase polycrystal with diverse interfacial energy of grain boundaries, a distinct stabilization of the structure was found. An attempt was made to explain this fact by the presence of characteristic edges of contact of four adjacent grains of (alpha beta alpha beta) type. The quantitative description of the spatial features of the structure has found a significant correlation to exist between the length of those edges and the grain boundary curvature by which the observed stabilization of the structure of the system investigated can be explained. The investigations were accomplished using a computer simulation method based on the concepts of the theory of probability and statistical mechanics.
