The paper presents the evolution and trends in the Master’s-level studies in aerospace engineering in Italy, looking at the past 20 years. In the year 2000, a major reform of the higher education in engineering took place in Italy, with the introduction of the so-called ‘Bologna system’ and the clear separation of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree studies. With this reform, a relatively high flexibility was given to universities to define their programme structures. The ministerial rules defined only broad subject areas within which courses and credits should be allocated. This reform allowed the diversification of the educational profile within each university and, even more relevant, allowed the creation of mobility across the country between Bachelor’s and Master’s study programmes. The paper will show the basic facts and figures in the six Italian universities participating in the Partnership of a European Group of Aeronautics and Space Universities (PEGASUS) network (Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino, Università di Pisa, Università degli Studi di Napoli ‘Federico II’, Sapienza Università di Roma and Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna), elaborating on the impact of the potential workforce for the sector. Data have been collected from the official open data repository of the Italian Ministry of University, supplemented by information provided by the six universities under analysis. The comparative analysis shows two major results: the positive impact of the reform on the overall Italian higher education and, specifically, a greater appreciation of the aerospace curricula proposed in accordance with the new system.

XXXV cykliczne Sympozjum WILGA nt.

XXXVth periodic Symposium WILGA (winter edition) on Design, Construction and Application of Advanced Electronic and Photonic Systems was held at the end of January 2015. It is an established, periodic meeting of young researchers, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and their supervisors. The meeting is organized by the PERG/ELHEP Laboratories of Institute of Electronic Systems, WUT since two decades. Sessions of the 2015 January meeting were: development of the architecture of digital electronics, embedded systems, design of system functionality, analog electronics, hardware – software integration, complex system reliability and dependability working in harsh environments, applications of electronic and photonic systems in space and satellite engineering and large research experiments. Summer edition of WILGA Symposium is organized on 25-31 May 2015 [wilga.ise.pw.edu.pl].

This paper presents the analysis of the world source letters [1-60] about liquid lubricants for lubrication of the tribological nodes in space engineering for instance: mineral oils, synthetic hydrocarbons, silicones, perfluoropolyethers (PEPEs), ionic liquids, silicic hydrocarbons. Requirements for liquid lubricants in space applications and research methods for their testing are characterized, among others: four-ball vacuum apparatus and pin-on-disk friction tester for tests in vacuum. The development trends of liquid lubricants for space applications are described, too, e.g. direction of development of lubricant substances, development of lubricating substances research and lubrication technologies for space engineering in the future (lubrication systems in inert atmosphere, mist lubrication, lubrication with fine grade powder, deposition of liquid lubricant vapours, gas bearings, magnetic bearings. The existing research methods are imperfect. Till now it is impossible to simulate many factors occurring in space (eg. State of weightlessness, the atmosphere containing the atom oxygen). It is hard to determine precisely (predict) the tribological node wear. There fore the research works on improvement of the existing test stations and analytical, methods and creation of new methods of tests and analysis are necessary.
