The assessment of spatial changes in the size of the spa park in the Inowrocław spa town since the 19th century

The aim of this study was to document spatial changes in the size of the Spa Park in Inowrocław from the 19ᵗʰ century onwards based on archival maps as well as field research and observations of the current status. Towns providing a highly specialised health resort and spa services, such as Inowrocław, need large expanses of green areas as public spaces for outdoor therapy for spa town visitors and patients. In Inowrocław, this may not be limited only to the surroundings of the greatest asset of this spa town - its graduation towers. The fascinating history of the area and planning decisions concerning green areas over the years have brought many benefits to the town, which also extend outside the scope of health resort services. This article presents the multi-faceted changes and transformations of this area along with the plans and intended uses.

Celem pracy jest udokumentowana na podstawie archiwalnych map oraz badań terenowych i stanu obecnego ocena zmian przestrzennych wielkości Parku Zdrojowego w Inowrocławiu na przestrzeni lat od XIX wieku. Miasta pełniące wysoko wyspecjalizowane usługi uzdrowiskowe, takie jak Inowrocław, potrzebują dużo obszarów dla terenów zieleni dzięki temu gwarantują kuracjuszom oraz turystom teren ogólnie dostępny potrzebny do terenoterapii i przebywania na wolnym powietrzu, a nie tylko w pobliżu tężni, z których słynie Inowrocław. Bardzo ciekawa historia tego obszaru oraz decyzje planistyczne na przestrzeni lat przyniosły dziś miastu szereg korzyści – nie tylko zdrowotnych z punktu widzenia terenów zieleni. Przekształcenia i dążenia obszaru zaprezentowano w niniejszym artykule.

Celem pracy jest udokumentowana na podstawie archiwalnych map oraz badań terenowych i stanu obecnego ocena zmian przestrzennych wielkości parku zdrojowego w Inowrocławiu od XIX wieku. Miasta pełniące wysoko wyspecjalizowane usługi uzdrowiskowe potrzebują wielu obszarów zieleni, dzięki temu gwarantują kuracjuszom oraz turystom teren ogólnie dostępny, potrzebny w terenoterapii do przebywania na wolnym powietrzu, a nie tylko w pobliżu tężni, z których słynie Inowrocław. Bardzo ciekawa historia tego obszaru oraz decyzje planistyczne na przestrzeni lat przyniosły dziś miastu szereg korzyści. Przekształcenia i dążenia obszaru zaprezentowano w niniejszym artykule.

Spas are a place where patients strengthen their health. Their location and special natural values are the reason why these places have been popular ever since the beginning of their history. Particularly important, in the quick convalescence process, close contact between man and nature is ensured by nearby gardens and parks. The natural environment affects various health aspects, reducing stress, reducing pressure or supporting social relations. The work is an overview of spa parks in the Western and Central Sudetes Resorts, in terms of history and the degree of their transformation. The aim of the work was to determine possible actions for the revitalization of selected examples, in such a way that they could not only be a valuable cultural heritage but also contribute to improving the health of the patients. In the twentyfirst century, the closeness of nature seems to be an essential element of everyday life. In the given context, particular attention should be paid to parks and municipal gardens in spas, whose role is currently becoming more important and the demand for them is increasing. The importance of these complexes has changed many times over the years, which is why determining their contemporary form is extremely important. These places provide the opportunity to observe and perceive wildlife, improving the quality of life, being an important place both in the treatment process and in everyday life.

Uzdrowiska są miejscem, w którym chorzy mają wzmacniać swoje zdrowie. Lokalizacja i szczególne walory przyrody są powodem, dla którego miejsca te od początku swojej historii cieszą się popularnością. Szczególnie istotny, w szybkim procesie rekonwalescencji, bliski kontakt człowieka z przyrodą zapewniają okoliczne ogrody i parki. Środowisko naturalne oddziałuje bowiem na różne aspekty zdrowotne, redukując stres, obniżając ciśnienie czy wzmacniając relacje społeczne. Praca stanowi przegląd parków zdrojowych w uzdrowiskach Sudetów Zachodnich i Środkowych pod względem historycznym oraz stopnia ich przeobrażenia. W pracy pojęto próbę określenia możliwych działań rewitalizacji wybranych przykładów, w taki sposób, aby mogły one stanowić nie tylko cenne dziedzictwo kulturowe, ale także przyczynić się do polepszenia aspektu zdrowotnego kuracjuszy. W dobie XXI wieku bliskość przyrody zdaje się być istotnym elementem codziennego życia. W danym kontekście należałoby zwrócić szczególną uwagę na parki i ogrody miejskie w uzdrowiskach, których rola i zapotrzebowanie obecnie wzrastają. Oblicze tych założeń na przestrzeni lat wielokrotnie się zmieniało, dlatego też określenie ich współczesnej formy jest niezwykle ważne. Miejsca te stwarzają bowiem możliwość obserwacji i odbierania przyrody, poprawiając jakość życia, stanowiąc ważne miejsce zarówno w procesie leczenia, jak i w codziennym życiu.

Issues of identity and identification in the protection of the multicultural architectural heritage in selected spas in the Hutsul region

The spa towns situated in the valley of the river Prut in the Hutsul region preserved a little-known but extremely interesting set of historical urban and architectural layouts dating back to the first half of the previous century. Considering the progressing destruction of the multicultural landscape of this region, the need to identify and register them is becoming urgent. Neither the historical architectural objects nor their immediate surrounding are covered by any form of institutional protection. Very often the inhabitants did not identify with the region and they lost their sense of their identity It seems necessary to create legal provisions for their protection and to establish guiding principles for the process of their restoration.

W miejscowościach uzdrowiskowych położonych w dolinie rzeki Prut na Huculszczyźnie zachował się mało znany, lecz niezwykle interesujący zespół historycznych założeń urbanistyczno-architektonicznych powstałych w pierwszej połowie ubiegłego stulecia. W obliczu postępującej destrukcji wielokulturowego krajobrazu tego regionu potrzeba ich rozpoznania i ewidencji wydaje się niezwykle pilna. Zarówno historyczne obiekty architektoniczne, jak i ich otoczenie, nie są objęte ochrona konserwatorską. Nastąpił wyraźny zanik poczucia tożsamości i identyfikacji mieszkańców z regionem. Konieczne wydaje się szybkie stworzenie form prawnych ochrony i zasad postępowania w procesie rewaloryzacji.
