The paper presents a comparison of higher harmonics in induced phase voltages of a stator winding in the no-load state of a three-phase 5.5 kVA salient pole synchronous generator. The comparison is carried out for the synchronous generator with different salient pole rotor constructions: a non-skewed solid rotor, a non-skewed solid rotor with radial incisions, and a laminated electrotechnical steel rotor with skewed slots and damping bars. The calculations of higher harmonics are based on the magnetic field distributions in the air gap, which are carried out in a 2D model in a FEMM program and on the induced voltage waveforms in the stator windings registered during experimental investigations of the 5.5 kVA salient pole synchronous generator in the no-load state.

The paper presents a comparison of higher harmonics in the induced voltages in the stator windings of three salient pole synchronous generators with different rotor construction. The comparison is done for generators with solid rotor without a skew, with solid rotor with radial incisions and with a rotor which consists of laminated electrotechnical steel with a skew. The calculations of the magnetic field distribution in the air gap are made in FEMM program. Comparison of the induced voltage waveforms in the stator windings is based on experimental investigations.

The paper presents the analysis of influence of the so-called rotor-end factor on results of electromagnetic torque computations in a solid-rotor induction machine. A field-circuit 2D finite element model of the machine is used in computations.

This paper deals with the FEA study of permanent magnet synchronous and two-ply rotor induction motor 3150 kW, 500 rpm and analysis of line-starting behavior, calculation of its parameters and performances are represented. The synchronous PM motor can reach the speed of rotation close to synchronous one if the asynchronous electromagnetic torque will be greater than the braking electromagnetic torque. Success of the synchronous PM motor starting stage depends only on rotor operation factors.

W pracy przedstawiono analizę MES silnika synchronicznego z magnesami trwałymi oraz silnika indukcyjnego z masywnym dwuwarstwowym wirnikiem o mocy 3150 kW i prędkości 500 obr/min. Analizowano rozruch, określenie parametrów oraz charakterystyk pracy.

A sensitivity analysis is performed to study the characteristics of the parameters of two-axis equivalent circuits (used in the modelling of solid rotor synchronous machines). The equivalent circuit parameters are determined by using a hybrid genetic algorithm, which also gives the right number of circuit damper branches that must be used to accurately reproduce the standstill frequency response of the synchronous machine. The sensitivity analysis clearly shows the relative importance of each parameter within the fitness Junction used in the identification process. Hence, it is observed that care must be taken in the identification process since the fitness function has very low sensitivity to some parameters. The results show that a sensitivity analysis of the circuit parameters could lead to a better understanding of the accepted two-axis equivalent circuits.

This paper presents a method of identifying parameters of equivalent circuit of the induction motor with solid rotor. The results have been obtained from stationary d.c. decay test and frequency response measurement at standstill. The solid rotor impedance is represented by the circuit with distributed constants.

W pracy przedstawiono metody wyznaczenia parametrów schematu zastępczego silnika indukcyjnego z litym wirnikiem na podstawie zanikania prądu stałego oraz w oparciu o pomierzoną charakterystykę częstotliwościową indukcyjności operatorowej stojana. Impedancja litego wirnika w powyższym schemacie jest reprezentowana przez obwód o stałych rozłożonych.
