Content available remote Plastic Behaviour of Crystal Aggregates

The basic notions of the physical theory of plasticity are recalled. At first, the classical model of polycrystal behaviour is briefly described. The model assumes the piece-wise linear yield surface with sharp plastic corners. Non-analytical form of the surface causes that the model cannot be formulated in terms of a closed system of equations. To avoid the problem, a model of crystal plasticity based on the concept of yield surfaces with rounded-off corners has been proposed. The model was the basis for description of crystal aggregates behaviour. Here, the polycrystal behaviour was fully determined by a complete system of equations. It has enabled to use the standard FEM analysis for description of material behaviour during metal forming processes. Below, using the above model of crystal aggregate behaviour, the evolution of plastic anisotropy in drawing wires, rolled or sheared sheets is presented.
