Background: Some phrases become common and contemporary without justification. One such term for business activities is the term smart. In the field of logistics, the trend toward "smart" warehousing is increasingly attracting attention. It is necessary to define it and the stage where intelligence can be achieved using available state-of-the-art technology, to follow the trend of the dehumanization of warehouse and in general manufacturing operations in the direction of Industry 4.0. Methods: The article is based mainly on observational methods, literature review, and document analysis, based on data obtained during the implementation of consulting projects. The subject is limited to warehouses designated to process palletised goods. Results: The available state-of-the-art solutions, like IoT, automation, robots, and communication standards, are close to smart warehouse implementation. But on the other hand, lack of full cooperation between various parties of supply chain and long-term return on investment stand in opposition to implementation. Conclusions: Smart warehouse is the matter of the future. Technology is predominantly achievable, but standardization, universalization and trust are necessary to reach the level of real implementation. Smart solutions are within the reach of a single enterprise, but only in isolation from its microenvironment.

Automatic identification (AutoID) becomes an important part of control systems for movement control of objects in logistics. From the perspective of process control multi-agent systems are a distributed control system, which sets out the operational objectives of the daily production in different production segments that are controlled by the individual production units. Next very potential areas for the application of Smart technology are intelligent logistics and operations management using AutoID RFID technology that allows automatic identification and monitoring of any objects in the production networks. The next step of smart production control is the application of Holonic multiagent systems - HoloMAS. To understand the autonomous control processes and technology state, the use of augmented and virtual reality will be necessary.

Jednym z możliwych obszarów użycia aplikacji smart [mądrej] technologii jest logistyka i kierowanie produkcji z wykorzystaniem technologii RFID, umożliwiającej automatyczną identyfikację dowolnego obiektu. Prowadzi to do zwiększenia bezpieczeństwa i wydajności produkcyjnej procesów logistycznych. Dalszym krokiem inteligentnego kierowania produkcją jest wprowadzenie multiagentowego systemu – holomas. Do zrozumienia autonomicznego kierowania procesem oraz statusu techniki konieczne jest użycie rozszerzonej rzeczywistości faktycznej [wirtualnej].

The theoretical and methodological foundations of intellectual technologies monitoring that are based on intellectual property are considered in the article. We prove that the evaluation of intellectual technologies market opportunities by the enterprise, the state of their target market, market changes on it to determine the position of the enterprise relatively goods analogs and substitute goods and identification of possible prospects and areas of intellectual development can be done very effectively using the principles and methods of economic monitoring. Methodical provision of monitoring commercial potential of intellectual property using the function of tangential economic effect is elaborated.

In this paper, the authors describe progress on the development of a hybrid (active/passive) scheme for use in adaptive structures. An aluminium plate is employed as the demonstrator. The technique is based upon the use of a finite element model of the plate, extended to include passive control in the form of viscoelastic and constraining layers. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the validity of the finite element model of the plate. Onto this framework is superimposed an active control scheme, formulated in modal state space. Emphasis is placed upon model reduction to obtain a low-order controller and to minimise the spillover effects which are induced when such controllers are implemented. Through a series of numerical experiments, it is shown how the presence of passive control introduces damping to improve robustness of modal control strategies. The paper concludes with a discussion of issues which remain to be resolved.
