Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie roli systemu gazowego w zachodzącej transformacji energetycznej. Określenie możliwości wykorzystania paliwa gazowego do bilansowania energii, a także wraz z zachodzącą dekarbonizacją systemu energetycznego oraz realizacją celów klimatycznych Unii Europejskiej wskazanie potrzeby integracji sektora gazowniczego z siecią elektroenergetyczną. Zakres niniejszego artykułu wskazuje rozwiązania techniczne umożliwiające powstanie inteligentnej sieci gazowej jako głównego elementu sieci Smart Grid zapewniającego bezpieczeństwo dostaw energii.

The objective of this article was to describe the role of the gas system in the ongoing energy transition. Determination of the possibilities to use the gaseous fuel for energy balancing as well as the ongoing decarbonization of the energy system and the implementation of the EU climate goals may indicate the need for integration of the gas sector with the power grid. The scope of this article indicates the technical solutions that enable the creation of the Intelligent Gas Grid as the main element of the Smart Grid ensuring the security of the energy supply.

W artykule podjęto próbę podsumowania prac prowadzonych w kierunku rozwoju inteligentnych sieci gazowych oraz rozwoju zintegrowanego rynku energii. Potrzebę integralności rynku energii można i należy realizować na poziomie odbiorcy końcowego iw gminach poprzez działania zarządcze i organizacyjne zmierzające do ujednolicenia rozliczeń. Natomiast inteligentne sieci gazowe należy rozumieć, jako sieci wysoce elastyczne i efektywne ekonomiczne w działaniu dla utrzymania bezpieczeństwa dostaw na rynku energii.

The article attempts to summarize of last year works carried out for the development of smart grids and gas for the development of an integrated energy market. The needs for the integrity of the energy market can and should be implemented at the user level and in the communities through management activities and organizational efforts to standardize billing. In contrast, intelligent gas grids should be understood as a network of highly flexible and cost-effective in operation to maintain security of supply in the energy market.

Artykuł opisuje ideę współdziałania systemów gazowego i elektroenergetycznego. Przedstawiono i przeanalizowano różne metody magazynowania energii elektrycznej. Wprowadzono koncepcję gazowej sieci inteligentnej. Gazowa sieć inteligentna umożliwia integrację różnych mediów energetycznych, w szczególności gazu i elektryczności, w sposób który pozwala na optymalizację efektywności działania systemów. Podstawowa cecha gazowej sieci inteligentnej to możliwość magazynowania energii. Magazynowanie energii w systemie gazowym pozwala na elastyczność w użytkowaniu i produkowaniu energii elektrycznej, ciepła czy zimna. Akceptacja innego gazu niż typowy gaz ziemny, elastyczność, nowe wykorzystanie paliw gazowych, to trzy funkcjonalności/usługi wysokiego poziomu, które może zapewnić gazowa sieć inteligentna. Pojawia się możliwość wprowadzania do systemu gazowego niewielkich ilości wodoru produkowanego z wykorzystaniem energii odnawialnych. Wzmocniona zostaje rola energetyki rozproszonej opartej o gaz ziemny. Pozwoli to na skonstruowanie w przyszłości zrównoważonego i ekonomicznego systemu energetycznego traktowanego jako całość.

This paper describes the idea of interaction between gas and electricity systems. Different methods of power storage are described and analyzed. The concept of a smart gas grid that enables the integration of different energy media - especially for electricity and gas with the result, that the overall efficiency of the grid(s) is optimized is introduced. The key feature of the smart gas grid is its ability to store energy. This storage provides flexibility in the use of gas or production of electricity, heating and cooling. The acceptance of gas different from typical natural gas, flexible grids, smart gas utilisation - are 3 high level functionalities/services which could be ensured/provided by a smart gas grid. The possibility of placing/injecting a small amount of hydrogen into the gas system arises and enhances the role of the natural gas based energy distributed. This will enable the construction of a sustainable and economic energy system as a whole in the future.
