This text is an attempt to explain what is new in Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT). It will concentrate on new types of CVTs. There will also be some advantages and disadvantages of using this type of transmissions in comparison to conventional ones. In conclusion there will be the attempt to show, which type of transmission could be the best in dependence on the applications.
