The article presents the difference between vectors of a non-normalized linear space and vectors of a metric space (Euclidean space) on the one hand, and the lack of a qualitative difference between elements of a given linear space, treated as vectors or tensors, on the other hand. This issue has been illustrated by the example of linear spaces functioning in technical sciences, especially in the science of strength of materials.
