W pracy przedstawiono parametry sit strunowych o bardzo dobrych właściwościach samoczyszczących. Przedstawiono wyniki badań wykazujących możliwość zastosowania sit do materiałów uznawanych za trudno przesiewalne. Wysokie sprawności przesiewania określone w trakcie badań świadczą o dużej skuteczności procesu przesiewania tych materiałów.

A screen as a plane plays an exceptionally important role in the process of screening. Screening effect depends to a large excent on the size and shape of holes, their profile, on the clearance factor, and as well on the manufacturing method and on the kind of material. String screens are characteristic of a large clearance factor. Due to possible vibrations strings have good self-cleaning properties. They can be used to grade materials, which even with screen slots within a range of 1,6 to 3,2 mm can be sifted only with difficulty. The tests of screening of fine coal fractions of a relative humidity ranging from 9 to 12%, as well as of fine silty waste fractions of limestone and dolomite with screen slots of 10÷4 mm, fully confirmed that string screens are suitable to grade materials which are very difficult to screen.
