This paper presents information concerning design of submersible motors, related to new SM series of such motors. The paper contains also the comparison of technical and performance data between the SM series of submersible motors and the submersible motors from other suppliers available on polish market. The paper discusses the possibilty of using submersible pumps as a second stage pump. The possibility and the purposefulness of supplying the submersible motors from variable frequency converters is discussed.
