Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is an electric machine, which produce torque as a result of variability of magnetical resistance (reluctance) for magnetic flux excited by current flowing in stator windings. SRM could be economically well-founded alternative for commutator DC machines in domestic and industrial applications from regard on many profitable constructional properties: simply construction, high efficiency, easy technology, low cost of driver, easy regulation of rotational speed, large reliability. Idea of SRM is not new. It was already well known former to first constructors of electric machines, but only development of power management technology, and CAD methods, allows to take advantage of SRM proprieties. At first, SRM had many of disadvantages, which were gradually eliminated. Improvement process is not finished at all. Currently this young branch of electromechanical engineering is quickly developed. Construction, operational principles, controller, switching arrangement, geometrical structures, FEM model and torque characteristics were presented in this paper.
Dokonano przeglądu rozwoju przełączalnych silników reluktacyjnych ( SRM ). Przedstawiono budowę i zasadę działania silnika.Omówiono projektowanie SRM oraz porównano jego podstawowe parametry z parametrami klatkowego silnika indukcyjnego.
