Problems associated with designing silencers are presented. Results of direct tests of silencers for cooperation with systems of axial fans, as well as results of numerical tests of a two stage acoustic silencer, are given. The numerical tests enabled determining the distribution of acoustic field inside the silencer and in the surrounding area. In those tests A sound insertion losses for different variants of installation inside the silencer, as well as for two different types of absorbing material used to fill the silencer walls, were determined. Impact of design features of silencers on effectiveness of noise reduction is described. Also, a technical sketch of a universal silencer with significant noise reduction (DipS = 39:1 dB) which can be successfully used in many ventilation systems is presented.

W pracy przedstawiono analizę stanu wibroaktywności narzędzia do zagęszczania gruntu. Wykonano pomiary przemieszczeń i przyspieszeń bijaka oraz uchwytu. Przekroczenie dopuszczalnego poziomu drgań spowodowało konieczność zastosowania wibroizolatora. Opracowano konstrukcję prototypu tłumika ograniczającego poziom drgań transmitowanych do układu dłoń – ramię operatora. Dwustopniowa redukcja drgań zastosowana w układzie wibroizolacji narzędzia spowodowała znaczne obniżenie poziomu drgań przenoszonych do organizmu operatora, co zostało potwierdzone w badaniach weryfikujących zaprojektowaną konstrukcję. Zastosowane rozwiązanie nie obniża efektywności procesu zagęszczania gruntu.

The results of vibration activity study of the tool for soil compacting are presented. The displacement and acceleration of the ram and tool handle are investigated. The performed measurements showed that occurring vibration of the tool handle considerable exceed the admissible value, what caused the necessity of the use of vibration isolator. The construction of the damper’s prototype lowering vibration level transmitted to the hand-armoperator system was made. Introduction of two-stage vibration isolation system of the tool makes possible significant lowering of vibration transmission to the operator’s body without decreasing the effectiveness of the technological process. The projected vibration isolator became confirmed in the experimental verification.

Omówiono najważniejsze zagadnienia związane z modelowaniem i opisem matematycznym niektórych zjawisk, jakie są charakterystyczne w rozpatrywanej konstrukcji.

Presented paper presents some research, structural and operational problems of dampers and shock absorbers designed on the basis of MR fluid. The most important informations related to modelling and mathematical description of selected, characteristic for considered construction, phenomenon are discussed.

Choć rola metra jest jednoznaczna - przewożenie pod ziemią ludzi na określonej trasie, to realizacja tego celu, ze względu na swą skalę wymaga wybudowania tak różnorodnych i skomplikowanych urządzeń, że o metrze można mówić jako o zbiorze specjalistycznych fabryk. Firmy: Instal Warszawa, Paroc Polska, Zakład Akustyki Instytutu Techniki Budowlanej zajmują się budową „Fabryk ciszy”. Dotychczas wykonano ich 29, tyle ile wentylatorni.

Although the metro’s role is well defined - under ground means of transport for people at defined route - the realisation of this goal, because of its scale, requires the construction of so much various and complicated devices, that metro can be spoken of as a complex of specialized plants. Companies like: INSTAL Warszawa, Paroc Polska, Zakład Akustyki Instytutu Techniki Budowlanej are constructing the „Silence plants”. So far 29 “Silence plants” were done, the same number as fan-rooms.
