Research on reference frames and reference networks in Poland in 2015–2018

Research activities of Polish research groups in a period of 2015–2019 on reference frames and reference networks are reviewed and summarised in this paper. The summary contains the results concerning the implementation of latest resolutions on reference systems of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics and the International Union of Astronomy with special emphasis on the changes in the Astronomical Almanac of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Warsaw. It further presents the status of the implementation of the European Terrestrial Reference System 1989 (ETRS89) in Poland, monitoring the terrestrial reference frame, operational work of GNSS permanent IGS/EPN stations in Poland, operational work of the laser ranging station in Poland of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS), active GNSS station network for the realization of ETRS89 in Poland, validation of recent ETRS89 realization, expressed in ETRF2000 in Poland, and maintenance of the vertical control in Poland (PL-KRON86-NH). Extensive research activities are observed in the field of maintenance and modernization of gravity control not only in Poland, but also in Sweden and in Denmark, as well as establishment of gravity control in Ireland based on absolute gravity survey. The magnetic control in Poland was also regularly maintained. The bibliography of the related works is given in references.

Artykuł przedstawia obiekt badawczy, część prac realizowanych oraz pierwsze wyniki prowadzonych badań związanych z zagadnieniem wyznaczania przemieszczeń. Celem badań jest opracowanie metodyki realizacji tego typu prac ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem możliwości opracowania uproszczonej i dającej wiarygodne wyniki strategii identyfikacji stałej bazy odniesienia w przypadku sieci kątowo-liniowej. Jest to szczególnie istotne, gdy pomiary prowadzone są po kolejnych etapach realizacji obiektu i czas na opracowanie wyników jest bardzo ograniczony. Wykorzystano w tym celu założoną sieć i poddano analizie wyniki wyrównania wstępnego realizowanego po każdej epoce pomiarowej. Wyznaczono przemieszczenia pozorne punktów sieci i wstępnie potwierdzono skuteczność wybranej strategii. Ustalono też ostateczne kryterium stałości położenia punktów odniesienia. Jako kolejny etap strategii obliczeniowej zaproponowano zastosowanie metody transformacji poszukiwawczych. W pracy wskazano też dalsze możliwości wykorzystania obiektu i kierunki przyszłych badań.

The paper presents a research object, part of the work carried out on it, and the first results of the conducted studies related to the issue of determining the displacements.The purpose of the research is to develop a methodology for the implementation of this type of work, with particular reference to the possibility of developing a simplified and giving reliable results strategy which identifies a fixed reference base of the angular- linear network. This is particularly important when measurements are carried out at various stages of work carried out on the object, and then time for the evaluation of results is very limited. The fixed network was used to do it and the results of initial alignment implemented after each measurement epoch were analysed. Apparent displacements of network pointswere set and effectiveness of the strategy was initially confirmed. The final criterion for the stability of location for reference control points was established.Aresearch transformation method was proposed as the next stage of a computing strategy. The study also identified further possibilities of using the object and directions of the future research.
