Główny Urząd Geodezji od 2004 aktywnie wypełnia misje tworzenia architektury danych przestrzennych opartej o taksonomie ustanowiona przez dyrektywę INSPIRE. Oprócz wdrażania serwerów katalogowych w urzędzie podejmowane są prace nad wdrożeniem polskiego edytora metadanych typu open source, pozwalającego na edycje plików w formacie umożliwiającym zasilanie nimi serwerów katalogowych w trybie „harvesting”. Przygotowywane są równie_ opracowania serwerów walidacyjnych, weryfikujących zgodność plików metadanych z profilem krajowym i geodezyjnym. Przyjeta architektura rozwiązania umożliwia osiągnięcie interoperacyjności z innymi systemami danych przestrzennych, opartymi o normy ISO serii 1900, jak i komponentami zaimplementowanymi wewnątrz tej architektury. W niniejszej pracy opisano doświadczenia zdobyte podczas prac nad wymienionymi tematami.

One of the main tasks of the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is to provide the opportunities for discovering, accessing and utilizing geographic information in the environmental decision-making processes. The INSPIRE directive provides some legal basis for building a crosscountry European infrastructure for geographic information. Since 2004, the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography is actively filling the mission of building SDI in Poland. The Office worked out a vision of a national infrastructure based on the interoperability of data and services across administrative country borders. The solution proposed is based on the network of distributed components linked by some common standards and protocols which coincide with the taxonomies established by the INSPIRE directive. In addition to the implementation of the catalogue services, the Office also considered the implementation of the "open-source" metadata editor, consistent with ISO19115 standard and Polish metadata profile. Some special concerns were given for a wide-spread metadata validator which is planned to be used as an important component of NSDI in Poland. This component was planned to assure consistency of metadata for the whole country. The structure of the system proposed should assure interoperability between other SDI systems based on ISO 1900 standard series. The paper presents some experience earned while implementing SDI in Poland.
