There is high demand for storage related services supporting scientists in their research activities. Those services are expected to provide not only capacity but also features allowing for more exible and cost ecient usage. Such features include easy multiplatform data access, long term data retention, support for performance and cost dierentiating of SLA restricted data access. The paper presents a policy-based SLA storage management model for distributed data storage services. The model allows for automated management of distributed data aimed at QoS provisioning with no strict resource reservation. The problem of providing users with the required QoS requirements is complex, and therefore the model implements heuristic approach for solving it. The corresponding system architecture, metrics and methods for SLA focused storage management are developed and tested in a real, nationwide environment. Keywords distributed storage systems, quality of service, service level agreement, management model, heuristics.

Cloud Computing offers the avant-garde services at a stretch that are too attractive for any cloud user to ignore. With its growing application and popularization, IT companies are rapidly deploying distributed data centers globally, posing numerous challenges in terms of scheduling of resources under different administrative domains. This perspective brings out certain vital factors for efficient scheduling of resources providing a wide genre of characteristics, diversity in context of level of service agreements and that too with user-contingent elasticity. In this paper, a comprehensive survey of research related to various aspects of cloud resource scheduling is provided. A comparative analysis of various resource scheduling techniques focusing on key performance parameters like Energy efficiency, Virtual Machine allocation and migration, Cost-effectiveness and Service-Level Agreement is also presented.

As cloud computing becomes increasingly popular among enterprises, organizations, and developers, it is time to consider how Software as a Service solutions can be built rapidly and cost-effectively. This paper presents the possibility of using a service-based architecture operating within the framework of the public cloud computing model and implementing Software as a Service. It also describes the architecture, implementation, and testing of sample applications. The conclusions drawn, with respect to related work and the results obtained, shed more light on the application of public cloud systems for Software as a Service purposes

In the article there is a brief presentation of Service Management Centre considered as a component of a new operational model aimed at network and services convergence. Service Management Centre is a fully service driven organization where all the diversified competencies are dedicated to end-to-end service management. Currently SMC deals with the majority of TP services based on IP protocol with VoIP and IPTV included. The implementation of several new services is in progress. The whole SMC performance is fully consistent with the ones of equivalent organizational entities existing within FT Group.

The paper reviews current algorithms for distributed, asynchronous control of networks when the customer is guaranteed to get some predetermined (e.g., as a part of a service level agreement - SLA) values of flow. Two cases are considered - both with single and multiple commodity. It is assumed, that the flow cost functions are convex with special attention devoted to linear and strictly convex cases.
