On the Mediterranean coast of Morocco, many military ships were sunk in the Al-Hoceima region during Rif war between Spanish army and the local Riffians. The aim of this study is to detect and to map shipwrecks embedded in sea-floor sediments in Al-Hoceima coastal. It has been carried out using free satellite radar image and the open-source software Sentinel Application Platform. The result of this study shows five possible locations of shipwrecks in the study area, two of them were confirmed by data shipwrecks of the Spanish hydrographic institute.

The Semarang city is the capital of the Central Java Province that is experiencing rapid urban growth. Land subsidence in Semarang has been widely reported and its impacts can be seen already in daily life. In order to minimize its damage, land subsidence monitoring is required as a part of natural disaster mitigation. On the other hand, understanding of the subsurface lithology conditions is needed to explore the causes of subsidence in certain areas. One of the methods of monitoring land subsidence is by utilizing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite image which is used in this research. In turn, the subsurface lithology can be studied with the geoelectric methods, one of which is the resistivity method. The purpose of this research is to estimate the land subsidence in the Semarang city using the Sentinel Image Analysis by means of the DInSAR Method and its relation with subsurface lithology studied using the resistivity geoelectric method. The result of the research shows that the average value of subsidence was located in the Genuk District area and Semarang Utara District area which each subsidence value is 9.8 cm/year and 12.7 cm/year. This is because the lithology under the surface of the two locations is clay and silt in a soft condition that is thicker than other locations. The saltwater content contributes to the consolidation process in the lithology. There is a tendency that land subsidence is greater in the port and industrial areas than in other regions, due to building loads.

Monitoring water quality in large dams is becoming a necessity for protecting stored water from various forms of pollution. This process requires analysis of several samples on a weekly or monthly basis. Our study aims to determine the relationship between water quality parameters (WQP) and digital data from the Sentinel-2 satellite to estimate and map the WQP in the Bin El Ouidane Reservoir. The in situ sampling was carried out in the Bin El Ouidane Reservoir (Azilal Province), followed by analysis of physicochemical parameters in the laboratory. These measurement results were compared with the reflectance in each sampling location to investigate the correlations between bands and laboratory chemical analysis results. The correlation results showed that all studied parameters have an R2 greater than 0.52, and they can be transformed to predictive models by stepwise regression. The accuracy of our proposed models was tested using the Oum Er-Rbia Hydraulic Basin Agency data, and the results showed that only three parameters yield admissible verification results (Chlorophyll A, dissolved Oxygen and Nitrate). Those models were then used in geographic information system software to produce a thematic map of each parameter over the entire surface of the reservoir. As a conclusion, the Sentinel-2 images could help indicate the eutrophication stage in the Bin El Ouidane Reservoir, which is a major risk in major Moroccan reservoirs.
