In this paper the principles of the theoretical background and technical methodology of eddy-covariance method were described. Some details about aims and methodology connected with bioclimatological investigations were discussed. Special attention was paid to modern measuring techniques of mass and energy exchange between active surfaces and the atmosphere. The sensors used for eddy covariance method were described. The principles of operation of closed-path and open-path gas analyzers as well as the sonic anemometer were presented.
