There is a vast body of literature on a significant role of the family in developing of self-image and aggression behaviour. Not only family structure (a complete or an incomplete family) is important, but also parental attitude. Parents are role models for their children, thus if they display inappropriate behavior, it poses the risk of improper child development, manifested by their distorted self-image as well as self-destructive and aggressive behaviour. The purpose of this paper was to demonstrate the influence of parental attitude on aggressive behaviour of adolescents and their low self-esteem related to body image. Both parents and their adolescent daughters participated in the study.

Administracja jednostek penitencjarnych podejmuje działania w celu ochrony życia ludzkiego i życia więźniów. Życie ludzkie jest najwyższą wartością i podlega w Polsce prawu. Prawo chroni obywatela zamieszkującego w jednostce penitencjarnej, jednak w przypadkach izolacji od społeczeństwa zdarzają się przypadki, w których osoby w więzieniach lub aresztach przedprocesowych popełniają samobójstwo. Poniższa analiza podejmuje opis takich przypadków, które obejmują lata od sierpnia 2013 r. do końca sierpnia 2018 r. Dane do analizy zostały zaczerpnięte z raportów sytuacyjnych przygotowanych przez służbę więzienną na służbie, przedstawione wykresy podzielono na kilka parametrów i wytycznych, które zostały zawarte w sprawozdaniach dotyczących tych kwestii. Uwzględniono całkowitą liczbę samobójstw i prób samobójczych w poszczególnych latach, z podziałem na miesiące, oraz przedstawiono miejsce ataku na życie i samookaleczenie. Ważnym elementem jest pokazanie, w którym kierunku powinni zostać przeszkoleni funkcjonariusze i pracownicy w zakresie zasad udzielania pierwszej pomocy. Jest oczywiste, że liczba ataków samobójczych w latach 2013-2018 jest istotna. Ważne jest, aby korzystać z monitoringu w tych pomieszczeniach, w których większość więźniów dokonuje ataku, przecinając przedramiona i szyję, więc przeszkolić oficerów, jak właściwie chronić takiego człowieka, podkreśla się przy tym właściwy wybór więźniów w celi mieszkalnej - świadomość odpowiedzialności za życie innej osoby, która wymiernie wpłynie na poczucie bezpieczeństwa i komfort pracy oficerów, a tym samym zwiększy bezpieczeństwo samych więźniów.

Human life is the highest value and is subject to law in Poland. The law protects a citizen who resides in a penitentiary unit, however, in cases of isolation from society, there are cases when persons in prisons or pre-trial detention centers commit suicide for their lives. The administration of penitentiary units takes measures to protect human life and the lives of prisoners. The analysis covers the years from August 2013 to the end of August 2018. Data for analysis were taken from situational reports prepared by the prison service on duty, presented diagrams were divided into several parameters and guidelines that were included in the reports on the basis of which the analysis was made. The total number of suicides and suicide attempts in individual years, broken down by months, was taken into account, and the place of attack on life and self-harm was presented. An important element is showing in which direction officers and employees should be trained on the principles of first aid. It is evident that the number of suicide attacks set up in 2013-2018 is important. It is important to use monitoring in those rooms where most prisoners carry out an assault by cutting their forearms and neck, so train the officers how to protect such a man properly. Emphasize the right choice of prisoners in a residential cell - awareness of responsibility for the life of another person, which will measurably affect the sense of security and comfort of the officers’ work and thus increase the safety of the prisoners themselves.
