The influence of morpholine sorption on selectivity to ethers in the reaction of methanol and isobutanol over alumina was studied. The catalyst was characterized by XRD, BET and porosity studies. Acid properties of A12O3 were followed by IR studies of the pyridine adsorption and a probe reaction of the cyclohexanol dehydration. The catalytic tests were carried out in the fixed-bed flow microreactor working on line with gas chromatograph. The study proved that the sorption of morpholine could be a method of controlling methanol and isobutanol coupling towards methyl isobutyl ether
