W komunikacie przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z problematyką ograniczania emisji tlenków azotu do atmosfery. Przedstawiono argumenty uzasadniające wybór selektywnej redukcji katalitycznej NOx za pomocą amoniaku jako najlepszej dostępnej technologii. Omówiono najnowsze osiągnięcia światowe w stosowaniu tej technologii.

In the communication, the issues connected with limitation of nitrogen oxides emission to the atmosphere are presented. Arguments justifying the choice of selective catalytic NOx reduction by means of an ammonia as the best accessible technology are shown. The latest world achievements in the application of this technology are listed.

Determination of a steady-state operation of a reactor for NO reduction by NH3 on a carbon sorbent

The results of investigations of the reduction of nitrogen oxide by ammonia in a fixed bed flow reactor of the Polish carbon sorbent AKP-5 have been presented. The kinetic curves (3(t) expressing the dependence of the degree of reduction of nitrogen oxide on time have been determined in the case of four NO inlet concentrations: 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000 ppm. It was proved that the period of unsteady-state operation of the reactor depends on the NO inlet concentrations and this period is between 5 and 10 hours. This period is independent of the contact time of the gases with the sorbent bed.

Przedstawiono wymagania stawiane koksom aktywnym przeznaczonym do przemysłowego oczyszczania spalin. Omówiono metody oceny właściwości fizykochemicznych i katalitycznych sorbentów węglowych oraz zestawiono niektóre właściwości kilku podstawowych typów koksów aktywnych.

The requirements for active cokes used for the industrial purification of combustion gases have been presented. The testing methods of the physico-chemical and catalytic properties of carbon adsorbents have been discussed as well as the same properties of several basic types of active cokes have been presented.
