W pracy zaprezentowano wyniki badań dotyczące możliwości biodegradacji BTX-ów w środowisku wodnym, w warunkach tlenowych. Przedstawiono rezultaty przemian - benzenu, toluenu, o-xylenu i p-ksylenu - dokonywanych przez bakterie kultur niezdefiniowanych, gatunki wyizolowane i populację składającą się z mieszaniny wyizolowanych gatunków Aeromonas sobria, Bacillus steareothermophilus, Enterobacter sakazaki, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus lentus. Przedyskutowano wyliczone wartości stałych szybkości reakcji rozkładu aromatów i porównano z wynikami innych autorów. Wysokie tempo biodegradacji charakterystyczne było dla mikroorganizmów występujących w ściekach komunalnych.

Investigations showing the possibility of BTX biodegradation present in the water environment under aerobic conditions have been presented. The effects of transformation of benzene, toluene, o-xylene and p-xylene by indigenous to sewage microorganisms as well as by isolated species of bacteria like Aeromonas sobria, Bacillus steareothermophilus, Enterobacter sakazaki, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus lentus and the mixture of these species varied distinctively. The results and calculated degradation rates have been compared to some results given by other authors. In aerobic conditions all investigated aromates have shown to be biodegradable. The highest rate of degradation was found for indigenous to municipal sewage microorganisms.

Przedstawiono rezultaty przemian - benzenu, toluenu, o-xylenu i p-ksylenu - dokonywanych przez bakterie kultur niezdefiniowanych, gatunki wyizolowane i populację składającą się z mieszaniny wyizolowanych gatunków Aeromonas sobria, Bacillus steareothermophilus, Enterobacter sakazaki, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus lentus. Omówiono przedstawione rezultaty i przedyskutowano wyliczone wartości stałych szybkości reakcji rozkładu aromatów z wynikami innych autorów. Uzyskane wyniki wskazały na możliwości biodegradacji BTX-ów w warunkach anoksycznych przez badane populacje bakterii, ze szczególną intensywnością przemian dokonywaną przez czyste kultury bakteryjne.
