The paper presents results of laboratory scale investigation on the influence of solid particle concentrations in sludge and a surface area in tank on cross-current multi flux sedimentation. The results confirmed the dozen or so increase of the yield in cross-current multi flux sedimentation in comparison with conventional tanks at the same efficiency of sedimentation.

Przedstawiono wyniki badań procesu sedymentacji prostopadloprądowej dla kilku rodzajów zawiesin (zawiesina ze stalowni konwertorowej, zawiesina z procesu utylizacji złomu akumulatorowego, zawiesina z procesu wzbogacania węgla, zawiesina chromowa). Badania prowadzono w skali laboratoryjnej. W badaniach wyznaczano zależność efektywności sedymentacji w procesie klarowania zawiesiny od obciążenia powierzchniowego oraz od stężenia zawiesiny. Opracowano równania empiryczne badanej zależności.

In the paper there are presented tests results of the cross-current sedimentation for some kinds of suspensions (the suspension from the steel converter plant, the suspension from the utilisation process of battery scrap, the suspension from the coal enrichment process and the chromium suspension). The tests have been made in a laboratory scale. In these tests the dependence of the surface load and the fed suspension concentration on the sedimentation effectiveness in a clarifying process. Based on the test results empirical equations of the investigated dependence have been worked out.
