Celem artykułu jest wskazanie przeobrażeń w realizacji treści z zakresu bezpieczeństwa w szkołach ponadpodstawowych. Sytuacja problemowa rozpatrywana została w kategorii poznawczej, stąd też zastosowano teoretyczne metody badań, jak: analiza, synteza, wnioskowanie i abstrahowanie. Analizie poddano współcześnie realizowany program tego przedmiotu z programem wprowadzonym w roku szkolnym 1989/90. Przeprowadzone wyniki badań dowodzą, że na przestrzeni dekad edukacja stricte obronna sukcesywnie ustąpiła miejsca edukacji na rzecz szeroko rozumianego bezpieczeństwa, powodując poszerzanie perspektywy poznawczej. Owa zależność pozwoliła na wnioskowanie, że w prakseologicznym projektowaniu procesów edukacji w zakresie bezpieczeństwa, determinując organizację, formy i warunki realizacji zajęć. Tym samym zawarte w 1989 roku treści dotyczące projektowania procesu edukacji na rzecz bezpieczeństwa pojawiają się także współcześnie. Mimo upływu lat, wciąż wydają się one aktualne i potrzebne.

The aim of the article is to show the transformations in the implementation of safety content in secondary schools. The problem situation was considered in the cognitive category, hence the theoretical research methods such as analysis, synthesis, inference and abstraction were used. The curriculum of this subject currently implemented with the program introduced in the school year 1989/90 was analyzed. The research results show that over the decades, strictly defensive education has gradually given way to education in favor of broadly understood security, resulting in the broadening of the cognitive perspective. This dependence allowed us to conclude that in the praxeological design of safety education processes, it determines the organization, forms and conditions of the classes. Thus, the content on designing the process of education for safety, contained in 1989, also appears today. Despite the passage of time, they still seem to be up-to-date and needed.

The purpose of this article is to highlight the essence and content of teaching this subject, which was introduced in Polish schools on 1 September 2009. To achieve this goal, the importance of education and, specifically, security education is discussed. The essence of security education is then presented, and it replacing the currently implemented defense adaptation is explained. Subsequently, the educational content of security education was discussed. The aim of the study was based on theoretical research methods such as analysis, synthesis, comparison, and inference. The conclusion encourages further reflection on this subject because education is an important area for ensuring security; hence, education in security from pre-school education to adult education can be found in Polish education. The tendency toward change testifies to broader cognitive perspectives, especially in the area of personnel and structural security of individuals and social groups. It also testifies to the understanding of the essence and importance of education itself.

The purpose of the article is to examine selected examples of types of security education in Poland. At the beginning of the 20th century, national security was centered on military and political aspects, but recent decades have seen the successive shifting of the focus from the military-political plane of security to other areas. It seems that educational concepts adapt to emerging challenges. This thesis is confi rmed by the concept of global education, the idea of military classes, as well as the military training of pro-defensive organisations within the framework of the Passport Program. All of these educational concepts were covered in the study. One of the most important conclusions of the article will be to emphasise the correlation between the evolution of the understanding of security, the transformation of threats and changes in the field of educational concepts.

Due to its geopolitical situation, Poland functions in the particular environment implying constraints which can be more or less accurately forecasted. The responsibility of those who have the state security at heart must aim at building mechanisms able to detect the chances and mechanisms limiting the threats in the future. As in any system, also in the state the most important element are people, that is the society. In this context, in order to prepare this society, in the best possible way, to new situations, it seems appropriate to forecast possibly the most accurately the challenges and threats it faces. The hostile elements existing in the environment, with their new destructive capabilities, also in the virtual reality, force us to attentively analyse motives and strategies of their activity in order not to allow for the situations threatening our national interests.

The purpose of the article is to trace the reasons in favor of security education based on supporting creativity, ingenuity, activity, courage and civic competence of the young generation. Education, for which the starting point would be the suspension of traditional ethical judgments on the structure and aims of a democratic society, with all the matters associated with them. Usefulness of these considerations justifies widely known phenomenon consist in that the previous culture of western democracy has generated civilization of permanent crisis against it which shows pitiful helplessness.

In the twenty-first century there is a need to skilfully combat new threats such as physically passive lifestyles and their consequences in terms of deteriorating health and the spread of social pathologies. Increased and systematic physical activity can reduce or eliminate the occurrence of many pathogens, while in itself this is a natural human need, an elementary basis of a person's physical and mental health, and thus the safe operation for the developed countries. Therefore, the theoretical aspects of physical activity – as a natural cure for selected hazards of peacetime – are the subject of a new challenge for security education.

The article contains definitions of security, education for security and leadership that have been formed on security philosophy grounds. At the same time a thesis is put forward that leadership is a basis for security education and is its integral aim. The analysis of leadership and education for security serves to prove this argument. Basing on this analysis the intellectual and practical principles of leadership and education for security have been formed. These principles are a starting point to define a commander taking into consideration the characteristics, behaviours, situations and education for security. They also allow to draw some rules for leadership education in accordance with the rules of education for security.
