Praca przedstawia rezultaty zastosowania algorytmu genetycznego (AG) w problemie projektowania filtru cyfrowego na przykładzie jego prototypu analogowego. Badania koncentrowały się na określeniu wpływu wielkości przestrzeni poszukiwań AG na dokładność i czas uzyskania rozwiązania. W pracy opisano problem minimalizacji, reprezentację osobników oraz operatory genetyczne: krzyżowanie arytmetyczne, mutację równomierną i selekcję turniejową z częściową wymianą populacji.

This paper presents the results of genetic algorithm (GA) application in design of digital filter based on analog prototype. The results of research the influence of GA parameter’s values, such as search space on process of searching the solution were analyzed. The analysis of genetic method with regard to convergence and accuracy for the process of searching solution and time of numerical calculations was carried out. The present work describes the problem of minimization, the representation of the individuals and the genetic operators: arithmetical crossover, uniform mutation and tournament selection with steady state.

The term global optimization is used in several contexts. Most often we are interested in finding such a point (or points) in many-dimensional search space at which the objective function's value is optimal, i.e. maximal or minimal. Sometimes, however, we are also interested in stability of the solution, that is in its robustness against small perturbations. Here I present the original, interval-analysis-based family of methods designed for exhaustive exploration of the search space. The power of interval methods makes it possible to reach all mentioned goals within a single, unified framework.
