Scientific and educational potential of the academic Earth Museum at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland is analysed along with its activities related to modern approaches to museums. The social context of the traditional, place-based museology is modified by 1) the dominance of science-centred role of the educational institutions and 2) the view of the museum as an educational product. The first assumption leads to the dependence on an ongoing volunteer support, while the second requires a substantial managerial effort to accomodate the support of the community. This opens up a new perspective in which the museum becomes a venue for innovative means of scientific communication in which the scientific knowledge is disseminated through the myriad of educational projects at the local and regional scale, contributing to the development of the whole community.

The article presents conclusions from research data management (RDM) trainings conducted since 2015 as part of the activities of the Open Science Platform, an initiative of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling, University of Warsaw. The aim of the article is to present a training programme and conclusions based on 5 years of experience (in the years 2015–2020 more than 40 workshops and trainings were carried out, face-to-face and online). The frequently asked questions and problems raised by the participants will be discussed. Also, issues addressed during the trainings will be placed in a broader context of changes in scientific communication in Poland, including, in particular, the implementation of openness policies and the development of new research data repositories (as part of the Disciplinary Open Research Data Repositories project). The article will also suggest possible improvements and developments in RDM training.

Przedmiotem opracowania są funkcje komunikacyjne bibliografii specjalnych na przykładzie bieżącej bibliografii bibliologicznej – „Bibliografii Bibliografii i Nauki o Książce” (dalej (BiNoK) i kontynuacji – „Polskiej Bibliografii Bibliologicznej” (dalej PBB)1. Zwrócono uwagę na jeden z działów tego spisu – Informacja naukowa. Dokumentacja, wskazując przede wszystkim na zmiany ilościowe jakie zaistniały w piśmiennictwie poświęconym dyscyplinie w ciągu ostatnich kilkudziesięciu lat (1937-2007). Ukazująca się w postaci rocznika bibliografia bibliologiczna, tak jak i inne wydawnictwa periodyczne, przynosi w sposób cykliczny informacje ze świata nauki. Dzięki temu bibliografie dziedzinowe sprzyjają dynamicznie rozwijającej się działalności badawczej, usprawniają planowe wykorzystanie różnorodnych źródeł wiedzy, są elementem komunikacji między pracownikami nauki, którzy obecnie swobodnie wymieniają informacje podczas telekonferencji czy też korzystają z tych samych elektronicznych baz danych. Specjaliści poszukujący informacji nadal traktują literaturę naukową jako źródło „odświeżenia wiedzy” [12, s. 43].

The bibliographies, including the special bibliographies, constitute one of the components of scientific communication. They belong to the most important sources of information, not only satisfying the scientific requirements of the scientists’ circles, yet permitting to conduct efficient and planned scientific studies and maintain essential communication among the scientific workers. The quantitative analysis was thus conducted of Polish writings in the field of the scientific information, published in the “Bibliography of Bibliography and the Book Studies” (1937-1968) and “Polish Bibliographic Bibliography” (1969-2007). Literature quantitative development was presented for the selected years and the ongoing changes of the structure of sections at that time. Contents characteristics of the materials dated 2007 was also conducted. The writings were studied in ten years sections of time, using analysis of the streams of information recorded in the field bibliographies.
