Artykuł porusza temat bezpieczeństwa organizacji ruchu drogowego podczas robót prowadzonych na czynnej drodze dwujezdniowej. Omówiono trzy typy rozwiązań dotyczących organizacji ruchu drogowego w miejscach, gdzie są prowadzone roboty drogowe. Przedstawione zostały wady i zalety poszczególnych rozwiązań. Całość poparto wynikami badania ankietowego.

The road network in Poland is still being expanded. The intensity of these construction activities has been variable over the years. The construction of dual carriageway roads (motorways and expressways) is conducted according to a program which was developed in the nineties of the last century and has been modified several times since then. Particularly high pace of implementation of the investments was in the period from 2004 to 2015. This was due to subsidies from the European Union and the Cohesion Fund, as well as the European Championship in football which was organized in Poland in 2012. The existing road network requires proper maintenance. This is often associated with running repairs and modernization works. This stems from the need to repair the damaged parts of the road construction or engineering structures (viaducts, bridges, etc.). Given that roads in Poland were constructed and are still being built, it is obvious that they present various technical conditions. The technical state of roads depends for example on their age and the traffic load. The current corrective actions are inevitable. Their implementation can be very often seen while travelling around the country. The safety of the work completion at an operated roadway (especially dual carriageway) is very important. Specifically, the issue applies to both drivers and passengers of vehicles, as well as professionals who carry out works at operated roadways.
