Artykuł dotyczy miejsca na rynku europejskim oraz światowym 3-fazowych silników indukcyjnych jako odbiorników energii oraz opisu nowych standardów ich sprawności, które są aktualnie wprowadzane na świecie. W artykule zostały wskazane państwa, w których odnotowano największe zapotrzebowanie na energię przez silniki elektryczne oraz szacunkowe przewidywania rozwoju rynku silników wysokosprawnych, posiłkując się danymi statystyk zaczerpniętych z różnych źródeł. Autor przedstawia również najczęściej spotykane bariery ograniczające wprowadzenie nowych, energooszczędnych silników na rynek światowy.

This article refers to the position of three-phase induction motors on the European and world market as power consumers and describes the new standards of their efficiency that are currently being implemented around the world. The article shows the countries in which the highest demand for energy by electric motors had been noticed and estimates market expectations of high-performance motor basing on statistics from different sources. Author presents also the most common barriers which limit the introduction of new, energy-saving engines to the world market.

This document describes the market of electric energy efficient motors. Approaches of the USA and of the European Union to the development of energy efficient motors are described and results are compared. Also approach to the energy efficiency in electric motors in Poland, before and after accession to the European Union is characterized. Additionally the Polish Energy Efficient Motor Programme PEMP is presented in this paper. This project is financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). It aims to overcome existing barriers to increase the market share of electric energy efficient motors and efficiency improvements in electric motor systems in Poland. Under this programme four components are being implemented: (i) capacity building by providing information and services related to energy efficient electric motors; (ii) implementation of demonstration projects for efficient motor systems; (iii) market transformation, using a financial incentive mechanism; and (iv) development of industrial energy efficiency policy, particularly in the field of efficient motor systems. Market transformation of electric energy efficient motors using a financial incentive mechanism under PEMP project is extensively described and results are analyzed.
