The paper presents application of artificial neural network in induction machine speed determination making use of current and voltage waveforms. Also speed values in past sequences are given to the network input, to secure recurrental capability of the standard static network. Training and testing was made on real 3kW-induction machine. In the training set we have data from a few starting cycles. Final results are quite good and could be a base for further investigations. The advantage of this model is that the speed calculation based on the measurement of the real values of current and voltage. In practical, speed measurement is more difficult then current and voltage measurement, so someone may consider using this model instead of speed measurement.

Presentation of current wave-forms recorded during cold starts-up and reaceleration of 6 kV asynchronous motors, in Laboratory of Instytut Energetyki in Warsaw. Wave-forms analyse for three different kinds of current transformers: - current transformers, of classic construction type IMZ, with current ratio dedicated for motor nominal current; - special desings of current transformers with frequency band width for aperiodic component of short circuit current with current ratio 1000/2 A/A; - special constructions current transformers (prof. Wróblewski's design) - measuring transreactor principe- with air core transmitting DC component without any limits .

A malfunction was detected of ground-fault protections of motors, operating with the Holmgreen's systems. In this connection tests were made consisting in recording current variations during switching asynchronous motors 6 kV. Holmgreen's systems compose with current ratio in variable 1500/5 A/A and 100/5 A/A. Some characteristic variations, their analysis and conclusions.
