In this paper the motives of round cutting insert's using with machining of tubular surfaces by cutting are explained. Here works out dependences which present the relation between the area, physical and technological parameters of the cutting layer depending on the inserts' nose radius. Restrictive circumstances are showed in and they fix the mode of the cutting layer's section.
