Typically, an inertial navigation system (INS) is used to determine the position, speed, and orientation of an object moving relative to the earth's surface. The navigation information (position, speed and orientation) of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is needed to control its flight. Since the resistance of INS to interferences is very high, it is possible to ensure reliable flights in conditions of high-intensity noise. This article explores the principles of constructing inertial measurement units (IMU) that are part of the INS and indicates perspective directions for their development. Micro-electromechanical inertial measurement units were studied in this work, and functional and principal electrical circuits for connecting units of inertial measurements to the microcontroller were developed. The results of practical measurements of units without calibration and after calibration were obtained using the created laboratory device. Based on the obtained results, the necessity of sensor calibration was revealed, and accuracy was improved by performing calibration with the Kalman filter algorithm. The Kalman filter is the heart of the navigation system. In a low-cost system, IMU errors like bias, scale factor error and random walk noise dominate the INS error growth.

To improve the durability of the rollers of supporting and guiding devices as well as traction ropes of ropeway facilities based upon the analysis of their contact interaction. Theoretical studies of a mathematical model of contact interaction of mine ropeway components to determine regularities of the formation of dynamic efforts within the contact area and experimental studies of the plant under mine conditions. Based upon a mathematical model, contact stresses within the zone of contact of traction rope with guiding rollers and drive sheaves of mine ropeways under real operating conditions have been determined. The obtained results are validated experimentally under mine conditions. Innovative patent-protected design solutions have been proposed; the solutions make it possible to considerably increase the durability of the ropeway components. It has been determined that methods of surface increase in the strengthening of a roller working surface do not have proper effect as the strengthened layer on a soft base cracks and delaminates due to high contact loads; maximum angle of rope bending on rollers of supporting devices (6º – in operation manual; 15º – in safety rules) recommended for GRW is overstated. It shouldn’t be more than 1.5º in terms of values of contact stresses for standard plants; development of prestressed compression state in the material of elastic lining of a drive friction sheave allows increasing considerably (by two times and more) its service life. Ropes with reduced diameters of external layer wires (Ukraine’s regulatory document – DST 2688) being used currently on mine ropeways do not meet the operating conditions and have a short period of service life due to their corrosive and fatigue breaking. To lengthen the service life of GRW traction ropes, it is required to change for the ropes with increased diameters of the external layer wires with preliminarily clamped strands.

The objective of the article is to determine the transverse stability indexes of hinge-connected buses (HCBs) by applying the computation-analytical method. The transverse stability parameters of hybrid buses with active trailers are analysed. Based on these parameters (the angles of the roll and redistribution of loads on the sides), the analytical dependences are developed. The dependences describe the movement of the parts of HCBs in the vertical plane. Considering the action of longitudinal and transverse forces, the roll angles of the bus and the trailer were determined. The limiting angle of the side roll of the bus rollover was found to be γамах = 27.560γмах, and the trailer rollover to be γамах = 30.210. The obtained transverse stability indexes of HCBs with a hybrid power plant testify to the compliance with the standard DSTU UN/ECE R 111-00.

An N1 vehicle model is created, which allows for changing suspension parameters and conditions of experimental performance. A methodology of computer testing performance for vehicle ride comfort and stability service properties’ characterization in a virtual environment is proposed. Vehicle suspension system modelling and simulation are performed. The results of the N1 vehicle suspension system from full-scale laboratory and road tests are given.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki numerycznego modelowania stanu naprężeń spawalniczych w rolce linii ciągłego odlewania stali napawanej warstwami ze stali austenitycznej X5CrNi18-10 oraz martenzytycznej X30Cr13. Przebiegi chwilowych zmian pola temperatury, struktur oraz stanu naprężenia rolki podczas napawania kolejnych ściegów i warstw oraz po zakończeniu napawania zestawiono w prezentacji opracowanej za pomocą modułu animacyjnego przedstawienia wyników, zastosowanego w zmodyfikowanym programie komputerowym RECOVERY 1999.

A paper presents the results of numerical modeling of the stress state in a continuous steel casting roller. The austenitic stainless steel X5CrNi18-10 and martensitic X30Cr13 layers are surfaced on the roller. Instantaneous changes run of thermal field, structures, stress state of roller during bead and layers, and also after surfacing are summarized in a presentation prepared by using animation module, used in the modified RECOVERY 1999 software.
