W pracy przedstawiono założenia i podstawowe zależności numerycznej metody elementów kontaktowych.

The paper presents the assumptions and fundamental relations of the numerical contact element methd. Application of the method in the mechanics of grinding processes should lead to valuable results since this method allows for analyzing the grinding process as process instead of analyzing only the final stage of that process, i.e. attaining the limit state (as in Limit States Theory).
