The paper is focused on presenting BLDC motor drive dedicated to road vehicle drive. Electric drive must fulfill specified functions depending on its application. Road vehicle drive sets particular demands higher than in case of other drives. Apart from obvious requirements common to all types of drives (such as starting or coasting), road vehicle drive should be able to recuperate energy during braking and to operate In reverse mode. The constructed test stand represents basic vehicle drive structure. The basic goal kept in mind during construction of test stand was selection of supply circuit structure (electronic commutator with auxiliaries). The paper gives detailed description of test stand with particular emphasis laid on the supply system structure and peculiarities of road vehicle.
