The high concentration of vehicles and pedestrians at traffic lights makes them a common place for road accidents to occur. The main reason for them is the behavior of vehicle drivers and pedestrians, who often violate the traffic law because of incorrect judgments. This study investigates a special type of traffic lights, which are located on places without roads intersection. In the present study, a concept for improving the safety of such traffic lights is suggested. The method suggests a novel algorithm for the detection of pedestrians, based on image processing and a background pattern. The concept of the detection system makes it applicable in different climatic conditions, such as rain, snow, dust, etc., and offers many advantages over the current situation in Bulgaria. The intelligent system only detects pedestrians in the waiting zones, in order to optimize the traffic problems, such as traffic delays, use by disabled people, protection against troublesome users, etc.

Przedstawiono analizę możliwych rozwiązań konstrukcji przeprawy drogowej przez Martwą Wisłę w Gdańsku. Po szczegółowym rozważeniu przeprawy mostowej w postaci mostu wysokowodnego i mostu ruchomego oraz w postaci tunelu wykonywanego w otwartym wykopie, tunelu zatapianego i tunelu drążonego uznano, że w istniejących warunkach eksploatacji terenów portowych wzdłuż brzegów Martwej Wisły i utrudnień w realizacji określonych przepraw najkorzystniejsze jest wykonanie przeprawy tunelowej w postaci tunelu drążonego.

Presented is an analysis of possible structural solutions of the road crossing through the Vistula River in Gdańsk. After a detail consideration of bridge crossings as high level or movable bridge, as well as tunnel crossing in the form of tunnel constructed in an open deep excavation, as tunnel constructed from floating and prefabricated concrete elements and as a boring tunnel, it was decided to construct the tunnel in the existing conditions as a tunnel executed using a boring machine.

Artykuł opisuje technologię zastosowaną do osadzania kotwi linowych na spoiwie cementowym w celu wzmocnienia górotworu w rejonie skrzyżowania chodników 663 i 671 w KWK „Ziemowit". Przedstawiono doświadczenia kopalni w tym zakresie oraz efekty takiego wzmocnienia. Zastosowanie tej technologii daje możliwość znacznego zmniejszenia ilości przebudów newralgicznych odcinków wyrobisk poprzez mniej kosztowne wzmocnienie górotworu wysokim kotwieniem.

The article describes the technology used for the rope bolt setting on the cement binder in order to strengthen rock mass in the area of road crossing 663 and 671 in the hard coal mining plant "Ziemowit". Presented are experiences of the mining plant in that field as well as effects of such strengthening. The use of that technology gives possibility of significant rebuildings reduction of the crucial parts of excavations with much less expensive strengthening by high bolting.

Przeważającym rodzajem wypadków drogowych w miastach są potrącenia pieszych. Są oni najbardziej narażonymi na utratę życia lub zdrowia uczestnikami ruchu. Często zdarza się, że to właśnie pieszy, a nie kierujący pojazdem, ponosi winę za spowodowanie wypadku.
