Increased riverbed erosion could recently be observed in close vicinity of hydrotechnical constructions in many lowland rivers. The immediate effect of erosion in this case is a very significant reduction of the riverbed level over a considerable distance, downstream of large reservoir dams. This process is influenced simultaneously by both hydraulics of river flow and geotechnical properties of soil eroded. The paper presents an analysis of parametric changes in the level of river bottom and grain size of bed material, and the relative density in the context of changes in hydrological conditions and diversity of engineering-geological conditions. As the result, a multiparametric model of erosional potential of riverbed sediments has been proposed, which can significantly help in proper planning of locations and construction of correction thresholds under given hydraulic conditions of the river.

Artykuł przedstawia krótką charakterystykę zbiornika i prowadzonej gospodarki wodnej, aspekty wpływu piętrzenia na wody gruntowe, zagadnienia związane z procesem akumulacji rumowiska w części cofkowej oraz procesem erozji w korycie rzeki poniżej zapory czołowej, oddziaływaniem zbiornika na reżim hydrologiczny Warty poniżej zapory na przykładzie powodzi w 2010 r. i niżówek w 2015 r. Omówiono również zakres niezbędnych zrealizowanych prac związanych z zapewnieniem bezpiecznego funkcjonowania zbiornika oraz podkreślono potrzebę pogodzenia często sprzecznych ze sobą potrzeb użytkowników.

The article presents a short characteristic of the reservoir and its water management, aspects related to the impact of damming on the ground waters level, issues related to the process of the bed load accumulation in the reservoir's backwater area, as well as the riverbed erosion process occurring downstream the frontal dam and the impact of the reservoir on the Warta’s hydrological regime downstream the dam, based on the example of the 2010 flood and 2015 low flows. It also discusses the scope of the necessary works that were carried out in order to ensure safe operation of the reservoir and stresses the necessity to reconcile different, often contradictory needs of the reservoir users.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę zmian geometrii dna rzeki poniżej zbiornika Jeziorsko na odcinku od zapory czołowej do Uniejowa. Porównano układ zwierciadła wody i dna sprzed wybudowania zbiornika oraz w czasie jego eksploatacji. Przeprowadzono również ocenę stanu technicznego progów stabilizujących zlokalizowanych poniżej zbiornika Jeziorsko. Analiza wyników pokazała, że wybudowanie zbiornika wywołało silną erozję podłużną. Progi stabilizujące znacznie ograniczyły dynamikę procesu erozji na odcinku od zapory czołowej do miejscowości Księże Młyny (poniżej zbiornika).

The article presents an analysis of changes in the riverbed geometry downstream of the Jeziorsko Reservoir, between the dam and the village of Uniejów. It compares the water table and bottom topology as it was before the construction of the reservoir and during its operation. It also carries out an evaluation of technical condition of the stabilizing barrages located downstream of the Jeziorsko Reservoir. The analysis indicates that the construction of the reservoir provoked intensive longitudinal erosion. Construction of the stabilizing barrages reduced the dynamics of the erosion process in the section between the dam and the village of Księże Młyny (downstream of the dam).

This paper is devoted to the erosion process downstream the Jeziorsko reservoir on Warta river. It presents a short characteristic of Jeziorsko reservoir and water management and also hydrologic characteristic of Warta River. Results of measurements in situ in the period 1975-2007 are presented. River bottom levels and water levels in cross sections were measured. The characteristic of river bottom material is presented. Results of measurements before the construction of the reservoir are compared with of investigations results during reservoir operating time. The erosion process downstream the Jeziorsko reservoir causes the decrease of bottom and water levels in Warta River. The grain size of the river bed material increase because of the erosion process. To counteract the erosion process two sills were designed and realized. The impact of sills on of erosion process conditions in Warta River bed is presented in this article.

Artykuł przedstawia trzy wodospady znajdujące się w potoku Kocwinianka w miejscowości Kacwin na Spiszu (utwory fliszu podhalańskiego). Największy z nich mierzy 7 m i jest objęty ochroną jako pomnik przyrody nieożywionej. Utworzony został na progu, którego szczyt stanowi odporna ławica piaskowca. Na południe od niego znajdują się dwa mniejsze wodospady (ok. 1,5 m i ok. 1 m). Wodospady są interesującymi formami geomorfologicznymi, obrazującymi efekt procesu erozji, ale ich stan zagospodarowania turystycznego jest niezadowalający. Wraz z walorami kulturowymi Kacwina mogą stanowić ciekawy produkt turystyczny.

The article describes three waterfalls in the Kacwinianka Stream, located in Kacwin village in Spisz (the Podhale Flysch). The highest waterfall (7 meters high) was formed on a scarp capped by a hard, resistive sandstone bed. Two lower waterfalls (about 1,5 meter high and about 1 meter high) are located south from the highest one. The highest fall is protected by law as an inanimate nature monument. All three waterfalls are interesting geomorphological features that illustrate results of river erosion but their touristic development is far inadequate. However, when combined with local cultural attractions, the falls can provide an interesting offer for tourists in Kacwin.
