A visit to Zamość was a great experience for us, not only in architectural way. Work with Italian students and comparing our ideas had changed our point of view for an architecture. It's very important to took part in a projects with students from other cities or even countries and to have a possibility to exchange your thoughts. In our project we try to redefine the funcion of a few building in a Old Market Square in Zamość. We try to change the apperiance of degradated areas to make people come there and also to learn them the history of this beautifull, reinessance city. In our new composition we propose a whole variety of changes — from a simple ideas like closing the street for a vehicles or to make a new park with a parking places underground, to a very strange propositions like reconstructing the old church tower in a new form and with a new functions. Surprisingly, our way of thinking was very similar to the ideas of architects and developers from Zamość, so maybe one day we will a have a chance to see our ideas alive in a center of this city.

Design Team: Margarita Ferrari, Chiara Cavicchioli, Simone, Katarzyna Osipowicz, Natalia Szwedowska, has chosen an area of Lwowska Gate, to be their design area. The major theme of the project was Plac Wolności square, which has been desingned as a modern art and performance space. The team proposed to remove disordered parking area and introduced sand stone changeable multifunctional forms into the space. The square could be rearranged depending on current needs or even weather and seasons, to gather people together and invite to the city. The space has been "furnished" with movable parts of pavement, integrated lightning system, and lawns. The second goal was to reopen the Lwowska Gate (main east city gate), joining the two old gates together with the glass passage.
