W pracy przedstawiono istotę cyrkularnej biogospodarki oraz jej powiązania z sektorem wodociągowo-kanalizacyjnym. Wskazano również działania będące motorem rozwoju biogospodarki oraz przyjętą w Unii Europejskiej strategię. Na tym tle omówiono zagadnienia związane z odzyskiem surowców oraz energii w oczyszczalniach ścieków. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła na wyciągnięcie wniosku, że obiekty te mogą odegrać znaczącą rolę w implementacji cyrkularnej biogospodarki bazującej na biomasie wtórnej, przyczyniając się do zmniejszenia zużycia surowców pierwotnych, ograniczenia zależności od zasobów nieodnawialnych, a także do redukcji emisji gazów cieplarnianych.

The paper presents the essence of the circular bioeconomy and its connections with the water supply and sewage sector. Actions that drive the development of bioeconomy and the strategy adopted in the European Union are also indicated. Against this background, issues related to the resources and energy recovery in wastewater treatment plants were discussed. The conducted analysis led to the conclusion that these facilities can play a significant role in the implementation of a circular bioeconomy based on waste biomass, contributing to the reduction of the consumption of primary raw materials, reduction of dependence on non-renewable resources, as well as to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Wastewater treatment plants are becoming an important part of circular economy. In addition to the classic role of wastewater treatment plants, they are gaining a new important mission to fulfil. According to the Nutrients-Energy-Water (N-E-W) paradigm, wastewater treatment plants should also focus on energy production and resource recovery. Intensification of biogas production is an important element in improving the energy efficiency of wastewater treatment plants. This can be achieved by introducing sewage sludge co-digestion with organic substrate, thermal hydrolysis and disintegration of the sludge. Water renewal, which includes a number of processes to restore the water features of the wastewater, is also becoming an important objective. Intensive research is being carried out on the production of bioplastics by bacteria inhabiting municipal and industrial sewage. Technologies for recovery of nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) from sewage and sludge are also advanced. The paper presents current trends in the development of sewage treatment plants based on the assumptions of circular economy and current policy of the European Green Deal.

Mineral raw materials are necessary for economic activity and wealth of every country. They are sourced primary from mineral deposits that are, with few exceptions, non-renewable. Their resources, suitable for economic exploitation, are limited and exhaustible. This is the reason for rational and careful utilization of mineral deposits and best possible recovery of explored resources.It should be guaranteed by the state legal regulations. However, the mining is often ceased before the deposit resources are exhausted, resulting from various reasons: due to human-independent factors, such as catastrophic events, natural threats to mining, and loss of economic profitability, or due to administrative decisions of mining authorities. The closing of a mine followed by reclamation and new utilization of the abandoned mining area before the exhaustion of total reserves may preclude the possibility of mining of their remaining portions, resulting in their loss. The decision of mine closing should be preceded by the careful analysis of the future fate of the unrecovered resources, by valuating the possibility of their future exploitation, or considering them as lost. The above problems are presented based on case histories of some deposits. The mode ofpreventing abandonment of unrecovered resources is suggested.

W artykule przedstawiono rejony składowania, zasoby oraz charakterystyki odpadów flotacyjnych po wzbogacaniu rud Zn- Pb z poszczególnych rejonów. Przedstawiono wyniki badań laboratoryjnych i prób przemysłowych nad odzyskiem cynku i ołowiu z odpadów flotacyjnych w schematach z zastosowaniem klasycznych pneumo- mechanicznych maszyn flotacyjnych typu IŻ o konstrukcji korytowej. W drugiej części zaprezentowano wyniki ostatnich badań nad odzyskiem cynku i ołowiu siarczkowego z odpadów flotacyjnych rejonu olkuskiego z zastosowaniem nowych komór flotacyjnych typu IF konstrukcji IMN Gliwice. Dokonano także analizy ekonomicznej efektywności odzysku tych metali z odpadów w postaci koncentratu kolektywnego Zn- Pb przeznaczonego do hutniczego przerobu w procesie pirometalurgicznym.

In the article storage regions, resources and flotation tailings characteristics after Zn-Pb ores enrichment from individual regions are presented. There are shown laboratory and industrial tests results of investigations into zinc and lead recovery from the flotation tailings in the flow sheets using classic pneumo-mechanical flotation machines of IZ type with sluice structure. In the second part of the article, results of the last investigations into zinc and sulphide lead recovery from flotation tailings of the Olkusz region with the application of new flotation cells of IF type designed by IMN Gliwice are presented. Moreover, an analysis of economic effectiveness of recovery of these metals from tailings in the form of Zn-Pb bulk concentrate intended for smelting in the pyrometallurgical process was carried out.
