The aim of this study was to evaluate the content of soil elements and parameters such as pH and iodine value in a period of one vegetation cycle. Soil samples were collected from the topsoil to a depth of 30cm, in April – before spring fertilization, August - after the summer harvest and October – before winter fertilization 2014. During the whole research period soils showed on average, a slightly acidic pH (5.6-6.2). The increase in calcium concentration leads to decrease in aluminum concentration, which at the highest content is in the range 1,02 mg/100 g and does not exceed the allowable concentration. However, increasing the sodium amount and magnesium concentration causes the decrease of potassium concentration and iodine value. In the central-eastern region dominate brown soils characterized by a lower iodine value (LJ) than in the south-western region where occurrendzina and pararendzina. The low level of nutrient microelements in studied soils obliges farmers to phosphorus fertilization and potassium supplement in order to obtain expected yields.

Zdolność sorpcyjna gleby jest jednym z podstawowych wyznaczników kształtujących jakość gleby i jej odporność na degradację. Miernikiem takiej jakości jest zawartość kationów wymiennych, występujących w kompleksie sorpcyjnym. Niewłaściwy wzajemny stosunek jonów wymiennych może przyczynić się nie tylko do zmian chemicznych w glebach, ale także będzie stanowić zagrożenie dla roślin bytujących na nich. Jednym z podstawowych czynników wpływających na równowagę w kompleksie sorpcyjnym jest wprowadzanie środków chemicznych służących do zwalczania śniegu i gołoledzi na drogach i chodnikach. Przeprowadzone w 1994 i 2009 r. badania miały na celu określenie zmian zawartości kationów wymiennych (Na+, K+, Mg2+ i Ca2+) w rędzinach właściwych miasta Opole. Zestawiając wyniki badań z analizowanego okresu, stwierdzono jednoznacznie wzrost zawartości kationów wapnia oraz magnezu, natomiast spadek stężenia potasu i sodu.

A sorption capacity of soils is one of the basie indicators of the soils quality and their resistance for the degradation. The content of exchangeable cations in the soil sorption complex makes the soil quality standard. An improper mutual ratio of exchangeable ions not only does chemical changes in the soils, but may contribute to the plant development threat. One of the essential factors influencing the chemical equilibrium in the soil sorption complex is the application of deicing chemicals. Studies, carried out in 1994 and 2009 years, aimed at evaluation of changes in the content of exchangeable cations (Na+, K+, Mg2+ and Ca2+) in rendzinas in the town ot" Opole. The results obtained revealed explicitly the increase in calcium and manganese content, as well as the decrease in potassium and sodium concentrations.
