In this paper, efficiency of the semi-active method used to control vibrations of planar frameworks is investigated. In particular, the reduction of vibration caused by wind loads is of interest. The control system is designed on a basis of the Lyapunov theory of stability of motion. The semi-active systems with active variable dampers in which the damping coefficient can be regulated are considered. Results of example calculations for the fourth story framework with and without control system are briefly presented and discussed.

In this paper, the heuristic active control method is described. The planar frame structures with active control system subjected to strong wind is considered in particular. Results of example calculation show, that the describing method makes possible significant reduction of displacements and accelerations of structures.
