Some aspects the selection of sorptive materials used to trace reference oils permeating through protective gloves by means of UV absorption spectrophotometry method

The UV absorption spectrophotometry tracing methods of three reference oils are presented. Tests were performed to select a solid sorptive material characterised by a high recovery index of the traced substance. The obtained results indicate that the application of the Whatman GF/C and GF/A glass fibre filters ensure a 90.8-99.0% recovery rate. The traceability limit for the tested oils was 3 Hg/mL.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań międzylaboratoryjnych olejów kalibracyjnych do aparatu czterokulowego, które zostały opracowane w ramach projektu badawczego pt.: "Opracowanie wzorcowych olejów smarowych do walidacji znormalizowanych metod badań wykonywanych za pomocą aparatu czterokulowego". W wytypowanych ośrodkach badawczych, za pomocą aparatów czterokulowych, oznaczano właściwości przeciwzużyciowe i przeciwzatarciowe opracowanych i skomponowanych olejów smarowych. W badaniach wykorzystano trzy metody badawcze: metodę oznaczania wskaźnika zużycia pod obciążeniem Ih i obciążenia zespawania Pz, metodę oznaczania obciążenia zacierającego Pt i granicznego nacisku zatarcia Poz oraz metodę oznaczania średniej średnicy śladów zużycia dśr.

The paper presents the results of investigations from interlaboratory research. Inter-laboratory research was executed according to standard PN-EN ISO 17025:2005. The aim of this research has been to test three reference oils, using a four-ball testing machine. The reference oils were produced by a chemical firm. The investigations were executed using three methods: - The determination of the load-wear index Ih and weld point Pz, - The determination of the scuffing load Pt and seizure load Pz, - The determination of the average wear scar diameter daver. In this research, 11 laboratories participated from different research institutes using three reference oils denoted as a Reference no. 1, Reference no. 2, and Reference no. 3. The specimens used for investigation were steel bearing balls. When the research was finished, every participant sent the results to a coordinator, which is the Institute for Sustainable Technologies – National Research Institute in Radom.
