One of the most important action in power engineering is searching for methods of pollution reduction. The biggest pollution is CO2. Emission of it in production of electricity is around 0,9 tons / 1 MWh. The article presents one of the methods of pollution reduction. This method based on decreasing energy consumption of electric drives of pumps and fans. There are practical technical solution in Poland, which decreased energy consumption from 10% to 30%. Others electric drives before modernization consume around 40% of total production of electricity (25% pumps and 15% fans). The modernization of such drives gives the possibility of reduction CO2 emission by 10% within 8 to 10 years.
