Oriented fuzzy numbers are useful in portfolio management since they convey information regarding uncertainty and imprecision when considering financial markets. One may apply a fuzzy discount factor and an imprecise present value in the form of a trapezoidal oriented fuzzy number. An investor can obtain recommendations on individual stocks (buy, sell, accumulate, reduce). Analogous recommendations are also issued by experts. In such cases, recommendations are mostly based on available data and expert’s knowledge and experience. The purpose of the paper is to present a procedure for comparing the accuracy of both types of recommendations. Also, the real impact the recommendations have on potential changes in portfolio composition in trading-related industries is considered. The research uses quotations from companies from the trading sector of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE). Theoretical considerations are presented in the form of an empirical case study.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia architektoniczne i budowlane związane z przebudową i adaptacją do nowych funkcji zabytkowego obiektu militarnego na przykładzie rewitalizacji Stajni nr 3 przy ul. Mieszczańskiej 9 we Wrocławiu, będącej reliktem pruskich koszar wojskowych na Kępie Mieszczańskiej. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań konserwatorskich i ekspertyz technicznych, które ukierunkowały założenia projektu przebudowy tak, aby adaptacja stajni do funkcji usługowo-mieszkalnych była możliwa z zachowaniem unikatowych walorów architektonicznych.

In this article architectural and construction issues related to the reconstruction and adaptation to new functions of historic military buildings are presented on the example of the revitalization of Stable No. 3 at 9 Mieszczanska Street in Wroclaw, which is a relic of Prussian military barracks on Mieszczanska Island. The article presents the results of conservation research and technical expertise, which guided the assumptions of the reconstruction project so that the adaptation of the stable to service and residential functions was possible while preserving its unique architectural qualities.

Rozpatrywany jest problem wyznaczania rekomendacji na podstawie wskazanych przykładów decyzji akceptowalnych i przykładów decyzji nieakceptowalnych. Wskazanie przez decydenta tych przykładów jest podstawą oceny jego preferencji. Istota przedstawionego rozwiązania polega na określeniu preferencji jako klastra wyznaczonego poprzez uzupełnianie wskazanych przykładów. W artykule zaproponowano procedurę kolejnych przybliżeń bazującą na rozwiązaniach zadania klasyfikacji na podstawie zadanych przykładów.

The problem of determining a decision recommendation according to examples of acceptable decisions and examples of unacceptable decisions indicated by the decision-maker is considered in the paper. The decision-maker's examples are the foundation for assessing his preferences. The essence of the presented solution consists in determining the preferences of the decision-maker as a cluster designated by supplementing the indicated examples. The paper proposes a procedure of successive approximations based on the classification task according to given examples.

Recommendations as a result of decision evaluations based on reference examples

The problem of evaluation of decisions is considered, which evaluation consists in selecting from the set of possible decisions those that meet the decision-maker's preferences. The added value of solving this problem lies in the reduction of the number of decisions one can choose. Evaluation of decisions is based on their complete characteristics, rather than on a pre-defined quality indicator. The basis for the quality assessment are given pattern examples of decisions made. These are decisions that the decision maker has found to be exemplary or acceptable. They are used as defining his preferences. The methods proposed in this article concern the ordering and clustering of decisions based on their characteristics. The set of decisions selected by an algorithm is interpreted as recommended for the decision maker. Presented solutions can find a variety of applications, for example in investment planning, routing, diagnostics or searching through multimedia databases.

Rozpatrywany jest problem ewaluacji decyzji polegający na wytypowaniu spośród możliwych decyzji tych, które spełniają preferencje decydenta. Użyteczność rozwiązania problemu polega na zredukowaniu liczby możliwych do wyboru decyzji. Ewaluacja decyzji bazuje na ich kompletnych charakterystykach, a nie na wcześniej zdefiniowanym wskaźniku jakości. Podstawą oceny jakości są wzorcowe przykłady decyzji. Są to decyzje, które decydent uznał za doskonałe lub akceptowalne. Wskazane przez decydenta przykłady są wykorzystywane jako określające jego preferencje. Proponowane w artykule metody dotyczą porządkowania i grupowania decyzji na podstawie ich charakterystyk. Wytypowany zbiór decyzji jest interpretowany jako rekomendowany dla decydenta. Przedstawione rozwiązania mogą znaleźć różnorakie zastosowania, np. w planowaniu inwestycji, trasowaniu, diagnostyce czy przeszukiwaniu multimedialnych baz danych.

W artykule omówiono najważniejsze problemy związane z wykonywaniem, eksploatacją i konserwacją fundamentów pod maszyny. Przedstawiono najnowsze rozwiązania dotyczące technologii realizacji tych konstrukcji i materiałów wykorzystywanych do ich budowy. Fundamenty pod maszyny to specjalne konstrukcje w budownictwie przemysłowym, służące do przekazywania obciążeń z działającej maszyny na podłoże gruntowe. Ich celem jest nie tylko przenoszenie obciążeń, ale także zmniejszenie drgań występujących podczas pracy maszyny, tj. ich wytłumienie i przeciwdziałanie redystrybucji na inne elementy budynku. Należy zauważyć, że fundamenty pod maszyny (szczególnie pod młoty) są najbardziej dynamicznie obciążanymi konstrukcjami budowlanymi. Z tych powodów wymagają dokładnych obliczeń statycznych oraz dynamicznych, poprawności wykonania i dbałości o nie podczas eksploatacji.

This paper presents the most important issues on the implementation, operation and maintenance of foundation for machines. The newest solutions focus on terms of technology implementation and materials used in construction of such structures have been presented. Foundations for machines are special structures in industrial construction, used to transfer loads from an operating machine to the subsoil. However, the purpose of these foundations is not just to transfer loads, but also to reduce vibrations occurring during operation of the machine, i.e. their damping and preventing redistribution to other elements of the building. It should be noted that foundations for machines (particularly for hammers) are the most dynamically loaded building structures. For these reasons, they require: precise static and dynamic calculations, accuracy in their implementation and care for them after they have been made.

The impact of selected elements of e-commerce to e-shop recommendation

The objective of the study is to evaluate the importance of linking the purchasing process variables (delivery, e-shop, communication) in terms of e-commerce and the willingness of customers to recommend the purchase in the given e-shop. Within the research, a total of 3796 e-commerce subjects were analysed in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We primarily analysed the impact of variable ratings e.g. satisfaction with the delivery time, total delivery, delivery days, communication and clarity of the willingness to recommend e-shops. The certification of the e-shop’s credibility was also taken into account. The research showed that variables (satisfaction with delivery time, communication evaluation and clarity assessment) have a significant impact on the willingness to recommend. For the analysis, we used a descriptive analysis. To infer the effect size certification to the other variables, η2 was used, where we found medium and high effect. Certification also emerged when analysing the homogeneity of the recommendation, where the differences between Kruskal-Wallis tests were found in the different categories of certification. The difference in all cases was also revealed by the Dunn test in pairwise comparison using the Benjamini-Hochberg method. Finally, the panel effect regression analysis was used. The greatest impact was found in the communication, followed by the delivery and the clarity of e-shops. E-shop management should focus on certification (trustworthiness), because customers take this into account. They also take the shipping time into account. Website awareness should be as obvious as communication. Seller communication impacts on most of the elements analysed.

Celem badania jest ocena znaczenia powiązania zmiennych procesowych zakupów (dostawa, e-sklep, komunikacja) pod kątem e-commerce oraz chęć klientów do rekomendowania zakupu w danym sklepie internetowym. W ramach badania przeanalizowano łącznie 3796 podmiotów handlu elektronicznego w Czechach i na Słowacji. Autorzy poddali analizie przede wszystkim wpływ ocen zmiennych, np. zadowolenie z czasu dostawy, całkowitej dostawy, dni dostaw, komunikacji i jasności chęci polecania e-sklepów. Uwzględniono również wiarygodność e-sklepu. Badania wykazały, że zmienne (zadowolenie z czasu dostawy, ocena komunikacji i ocena jasności) mają znaczący wpływ na chęć rekomendacji. Do analizy wykorzystano analizę opisową. W celu ustalenia wielkości efektu dla innych zmiennych, użyto η2, w którym znaleziono efekt średni i wysoki. Certyfikacja pojawiła się również podczas analizy jednorodności zaleceń, gdzie w różnych kategoriach certyfikacji stwierdzono różnice między testami Kruskala-Wallisa. Różnica we wszystkich przypadkach została również ujawniona w teście Dunna w parach porównania przy użyciu metody Benjaminiego-Hochberga. Ostatecznie zastosowano analizę regresji efektu panelu. Największy wpływ wywarła komunikacja, a następnie dostawa i przejrzystość e-sklepów. Zarządzanie sklepem elektronicznym powinno koncentrować się na certyfikacji (wiarygodności), ponieważ klienci biorą to pod uwagę. Biorą oni również pod uwagę czas wysyłki. Świadomość witryny powinna być równie oczywista jak komunikacja. Komunikat sprzedawcy wpływa na większość analizowanych elementów.

Oznaczanie i interpretacja lekowrażliwości drobnoustrojów chorobotwórczych na leki jest jednym z najważniejszych etapów działań podejmowanych przez kliniczne laboratoria diagnostyki mikrobiologicznej. Współczesne laboratorium mikrobiologiczne posiada możliwość oznaczania lekowrażliwości różnymi metodami. Do dostępnych metod zapewniających powtarzalność i wiarygodność otrzymywanych wyników należą metody dyfuzyjno-krążkowa i rozcieńczeń antybiotyku w podłożu.

Near real time media content personalisation is nowadays a major challenge involving media content sources, distributors and viewers. This paper describes an approach to seamless recommendation, negotiation and transaction of personalised media content. It adopts an integrated view of the problem by proposing, on the business-to-business (B2B) side, a brokerage platform to negotiate the media items on behalf of the media content distributors and sources, providing viewers, on the business-to-consumer (B2C) side, with a personalised electronic programme guide (EPG) containing the set of recommended items after negotiation. In this setup, when a viewer connects, the distributor looks up and invites sources to negotiate the contents of the viewer personal EPG. The proposed multi-agent brokerage platform is structured in four layers, modelling the registration, service agreement, partner lookup, invitation as well as item recommendation, negotiation and transaction stages of the B2B processes. The recommendation service is a rule-based switch hybrid filter, including six collaborative and two content-based filters. The rule-based system selects, at runtime, the filter(s) to apply as well as the final set of recommendations to present. The filter selection is based on the data available, ranging from the history of items watched to the ratings and/or tags assigned to the items by the viewer. Additionally, this module implements (i) a novel item stereotype to represent newly arrived items, (ii) a standard user stereotype for new users, (iii) a novel passive user tag cloud stereotype for socially passive users, and (iv) a new content-based filter named the collinearity and proximity similarity (CPS). At the end of the paper, we present off-line results and a case study describing how the recommendation service works. The proposed system provides, to our knowledge, an excellent holistic solution to the problem of recommending multimedia contents.

With advent of technology MANET is becoming more and more ubiquitous, and so is the vulnerability of such networks to attacks. In this paper, we propose a secure, lightweight, on-demand routing protocol for MANETs. It uses the concept of fidelity to allocate trust to a neighbor, thereby taking the decision whether to send data via that neighbor or not. To combat attacks efficiently new packets like report and recommendation are used. After receiving a few of these packets a node can conclude about the behavior of a node, thereby identifying and blacklisting the malicious nodes. We try to impose bounds for the fidelity with reference to the battery of the node, which restricts a node to increase its fidelity to infinity and become dominant in the network. This protocol not only finds a secure route to transmit data, but also identifies the malicious nodes in the network. Our protocol exhibits high packet delivery fraction, with low normalized routing load and low end to end delay; which has been observed while simulating in GloMoSim platform. We have observed that our protocol performs not only better than other existing secure routing protocol in a malicious environment, but also combats, many attacks which have not been dealt with these protocols.

Przy zrównoważonym rozwoju infrastruktury komunikacyjnej, jak ogólnie wiadomo, nie da się pominąć zagadnień ekologicznych. Dotyczy to zarówno budowy nowych tak potrzebnych dróg kołowych i linii kolejowych, jak też i ich modernizacji. W tym celu nieodzowna staje się budowa przejść dla zwierząt i przepustów o funkcji zespolonej. Autor referatu porusza konieczność opracowania ujednoliconych Zaleceń Projektowania, Budowy i Utrzymania Przejść dla Zwierząt, które w sposób jednoznaczny uporządkowałyby wszystkie kwestie związane z tymi obiektami. Obecnie zalecenia takie są w fazie opracowywania.

With the sustainable development of transport infrastructure can not ignore the environmental problems. This applies both to build much-needed new roads and railways, as well, as their modernization. For this purpose, it becomes essential to build passages for animals and culverts of complex function. The author of the paper moves the need for a unified Recommendations of Design, Construction and Maintenance of Animal Passages, which clearly organize all the issues associated with these objects. Currently such recommendations are being developed under the leadership of the author.

Factors Affecting Consumers’ Behavioural Intention Towards Apparel Stores: A Test of the Mediating Role of Brand Satisfaction

The research studied the factors that affect consumers’ behavioural intention towards apparel stores. Three different aspects of behavioural intention were examined: consumers’ purchase intention (PI), willingness to pay more (WPAY), and brand recommendation (RECM). Specifically the authors propose a model in which consumer satisfaction with the store brand mediates the effects of attitude towards sales personnel and the convenience of the store’s payment conditions or options on PI, WPAY, and RECM. The relationships hypothesized in the model were tested using two apparel store brands familiar to consumers in the city of Istanbul, Turkey. All findings were in favour of the model proposed for both apparel store brands studied, which were either a sample of men or women.

Praca przedstawia badania czynników wpływających na zachowania konsumentów wobec sklepów odzieżowych, uwzględniając trzy różne aspekty zachowania: zamiar zakupu (PI), gotowość akceptacji wyższej ceny (WPAY) oraz rekomendacje marki (RECM). Autorzy proponują model, w którym zadowolenie konsumenta z marki pośredniczy w postawie wobec sprzedawców, warunków płatności i opcji wyboru PI, WPAY i RECM. Przeanalizowano dwie marki popularne wśród konsumentów. Stwierdzono występujące różnice pomiędzy zachowaniem kobiet i mężczyzn.

Zbadano właściwości dwóch renowacyjnych tynków pokrywających, dostępnych na rynku. Badania wykazały, że jeden z tych tynków jest w pełni przydatny do prac renowacyjnych. Oba tynki mają dużą wytrzymałość na zginanie i ściskanie oraz małą przepuszczalność wody i bardzo dobrą trwałość, co stanowi ich zalety. Jeden z badanych tynków ma jednak znacznie gorszą odporność na mróz i krystalizację soli, co ogranicza jego zastosowanie w pracach renowacyjnych.

Mechanical, hygric, thermal and durability properties of two commercial brown coat-renovation plaster systems are investigated. Experimental results show that one of the analyzed pairs of plasters is very suitable for the use at renovation works. The high values of compressive and bending strength are the first advantage of both the brown-coat and renovation-plaster layers, the low liquid water transport parameters the second, the very good durability parameters the third. The second pair of studied plasters is found to suffer from the significantly worse frost resistance and salt crystallization resistance of the brown coat, which limits its use for renovation purpose.
